.......hey, hey.......watch that old guys stuff Fran. I note that Seamus is member no. 124 and I am no. 100. Is it that to which you refer or the fact they he and I are older than dirt?

A very interesting post by CallipygianKing. Gives thought to the mental process of competitors not generally seen(or adjudicated) back east........then comes Championships. That 'unknown' is a two edged sword. As a performer, does it give a particular advantage to the unknown? A disadvantage?

Is there a disadvantage because some of the judging community is seeing them for the first time? Perhaps.

Yep, James, it's a definite disadvantage to be unknown. I'm sure that you remember a few years ago in Scranton when the Inspires from Japan came in kicked ### early in prelims. The prelims judging panel justifiably gave them a big number. The audience went absolutely ballistic! Everyone knew they were going to score even higher in Finals: and they did, beating the Cabs (their inspiration ...please pardon the pun).

Hey, thanks for the updated standings, Jeff. I now have that warm and fuzzy feeling that you are on top of things.

We're lucky we got out with the score we did. We have 1/2 our guard and percussion (pit and battery) not with us this weekend. About 16 total holes.

No excuses here, though. You get what you get and do the best with what you have.

We're looking ahead to the big dance, and we are even in more of a position to surprise some people now.

I'm amazed we were even able to do a show....

that explains a lot dude. i was looking at the recap and was like "whoa" on the visual side.

:worthy:

I actually thought they did very well, but you could sense that the holes had some effect, but I think the scores showed the effort involved with all the missing people. I didn't know it was that many. I originally wasn't planning on going to St. Peter, but Dave "Big Dog" Seip needed a ride from MSP to Petertown, so I kinda acted as a good samaritan..

I think today's show will bode better for everybody, a more drum corps type crowd at MBI's show.

Pat
