MCL_Contra
um...here is a theory....different judges!!! Nope......same judges. They just switched captions is all! I heard (and this is just hearsay) that the percussion judge got chewed out by the chief judge on Saturday for scoring incorrectly on the DCA sheets. So he probably overcompensated on Sunday.....hence the lower scores. Edited August 21, 2006 by MCL_Contra

For us, it was visual scores that really dropped.

Browniebrick
That would put the DCA-C corps' prelims scores at... 74.556 for Brass (-1.088 each day) 71.45 for Frontier (+0.075 each day) 46.506 for the Kilties (-2.638 each day) 39.081 for the Govies (-2.813 each day) 36.482 for MCL (-2.562 each day) 24.663 for the Lakeshoremen (-3.325 each day) 10.688 for Chops (-4.8 each day) Zoinks! I hadn't realized that we were dropped nearly 5 points! And for a show that was considerably better than our performance on Saturday. Can anyone devise a good conspiracy theory for me to latch on to? Casino comes to mind - It's called "SLOTTING" !!! Only you don't have the option to even hope for a positive pay back. The other possibility is that the scores were too high/eleveated on Saturday, and the afterglow effect from Patrick's brought everyone back down to reality. CVQuesty
In the score listing above (Thaks for that, Wiley) were both the DCI and DCA scores used, or only DCA scores?
Wiley
Right now it includes both for the YTD averages and high scores. I think I only included DCA shows for the August average, but I'll check in the morning and fix it if I didn't.

Looking back at the recaps is hard to fully understand what took place between Saturday and Sunday other than GE Music went down quite a bit across the board. Same judges .. different captions. The spreads stayed about the same. Lakeshoremen had a considerably better show on Sunday. Watching Frontier from the side (it didn't matter what side you watched them from) I could tell they came out with a vengence . Reading the other responses it looks like EVERYONE had a great show on Sunday. I wish we could have stayed to watch the whole show but we left right away and rolled into Troy Mi at about 9am on Monday. All I can say is, " WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND!" I haven't had the much fun in 20 years. Govies did an incredible job with the housing. Show coordination was stellar. MBI, thanks so much for the perfect setting on Sunday. What a great place to do drum corps! Everything went very very smoothly. Patrick's was a great time! Thanks for all the wonderful compliments that you all gave so freely. It was a huge release to finally get out there and put some numbers on the board in front of a true "DRUM CORPS" crowd. No doubt, we'll find our way to MN again. Best of luck to all in the coming weeks. See ya in Rahchacha! B)
