GGarrett
wow... Part 7 ... (e) ... funny to read that. It would appear that almost NONE of those rules apply anymore in any way to today's drum corps... are there any that are still relevant? BobB
Singing, chanting, talking or shouting, either in unison or individually while on the field is not permitted, No "duts" for the snare line? How did we ever manage to find "1"??? :P
jojo
veddy intedestink there's been a lot of banter on these boards about "best colorguard" scores ... hopefully this finally settles that particular question
bluecoats88
5. EQUIPMENT: The musical equipment of each corps shall be limited to: Percussion instruments: Snare drums, tenor drums, baritone drums, bass drums, cymbals, tymbales, bongo drums, conga drums, tom-toms, timp-toms, and tympani ( the tympani must be played only by the man (men) who carry it (them)- only a tympanist may play another tympanist's drum). In addition all hand - held percussion accessories may be used, provided they do not require the fielding of any additional member(s) to carry them. I'm really interested to know what a baritone drum is. anyone seen one of these? they sound interesting.

Tansea
I'm really interested to know what a baritone drum is. anyone seen one of these? they sound interesting. There is a classic photo of the Cavaliers from one of the album covers that would sort of explain this. Apparently they were prone to the creative use of the circular saw when designing new instruments. I found it: Edited August 1, 2006 by Tansea

elphaba01
"Very "Old School": If you think what you saw was "Bad", travel back a little farther into time to the old VFW & American Legion score sheets that actually had 10 points captions for "Inspection" and "Cadence". That actually left only 80 "Points" for the execution and GE captions, with "GE" being worth all of ten points. Yeah, ONE "GE" sheet, worth all of ten points.... And you thought the 1970s were "Old School"..... Elphaba WWW
