ErieSopMike
I think it will be just like last years broadcast. Same angles to stuff behind the scenes that only us corps people understand. Same thing of following 3 performers from different corps in their age-out season. Same 30 seconds of actually showing a performance. Same 5 minutes of commercials. Same 10 seconds of showing the 6th through 12th place corps. The only difference is we know there is a different winner this year than last. Wild Nights
I love lamp, and DCI telecast on ESPN!! The broadcast is excellent for ESPN, just as Terrence's polls are excellent for DCP. :)
zarblap
At least drum corps is getting some TV time. I loved back when PBS would put the finals on uncut, wish we still had that.
ErieSopMike
At least drum corps is getting some TV time. I loved back when PBS would put the finals on uncut, wish we still had that. AMEN!!!! Back then it was great... there was no "following members of the corps" or stuff like that... It was pure, uncut, top drum corps action. That's the way it should be broadcast... take it back to PBS if that's what you have to do. Are there any numbers from last years Finals ESPN broadcast that show how much interest was generated? Like.. how many people that weren't into drum corps actually watched the broadcast? Because if only drum corps people watched the 'cast, then I'd say to take the "extra" things out and show more of the performances!
BoxVSoprano
what are you guys talking about, the broadcast was the same crap when it was on pbs. pbs hadnt put out a good cast in years
stockman365
Same angles to stuff behind the scenes that only us corps people understand. I hope they tame down the sappy behind the scenes stuff. For the uninitiated people out there, they could care less about seeing 10 minutes of hugging and crying of corps members...that was overkill. Just show the performances!
