threefortywest
how do you guys think the loss of seidling will affect PR... will they have a tough time adjusting to Rick Valenzuela? what are your thoughts, will PR keep climbing, and perhaps win a second title next year? BMBob
It is my hope that the corps will absorb the change without any bumps - I think the fact that Valenzuela has good experience with a top-level corps is definitely a plus.
Morgoth Bauglir
I'm usually doom and gloom when it comes to staff changes, but I think Phantom will do fine this year. I don't see them winning though.

ieuph7
I believe that Rick was acting corps director for much of last season, if not a bit before.
jake_the_hydra
I believe that Rick was acting corps director for much of last season, if not a bit before. He was definitely involved to some degree (isn't Pat getting married or something?) so it's not as if it's a end of era-beginning of era transition. Rick was around a lot in 06. Remember that BD had white stripes down the sides of their pants (and a MUCH more defined and demanding technique anyway; that's referring to almost every corps in DCI), Bluecoats had white pants and shoes (contrasting the dark jackets), and Cadets have a uniform and style that brings attention to any lack of uniformity. I understand the risk Phantom was taking by doing the all white thing (and I liked it, visually....also felt that they had among the, if not the, hardest drill in DCI this year), but I highly doubt they would have won if they were wearing all black. I give them a lot of credit for the risks they took this year, especially visually. I WOULD personally assert though that if the Cavaliers had a different uniform (basically, ANY in the rest of the top 5), they would fall at least three spots in rankings. tubawarrior
how do you guys think the loss of seidling will affect PR... will they have a tough time adjusting to Rick Valenzuela? what are your thoughts, will PR keep climbing, and perhaps win a second title next year? i think the adjustment should be pretty seamless since he was brought in last year (which has prompted a lot of us to assume Regiment knew this was coming)...will they win? that will have to wait to be seen (repetoire, etc...) but here's to hoping Edited October 18, 2006 by tubawarrior

Even if Phantom had scored a perfect 20.0 in Visual Performance (the subcaption where foot problems would have been taken into account), their score would have only risen .3, resulting in a second place finish by .05. festive
I'm sure Rick's got everything covered. :)
