Hrothgar15
One of my favorite, if not my single favorite, parts of drum corps is the ending (last several measures) of the opener. Perhaps the best of these is the end of the SCV 2000 opener. Other opener endings worth mentioning are Cavaliers '92, Cadets '93, Cadets '95, Cadets '01, Phantom '89, and SCV '94. What are some of your favorites?

Lance
SCV 99 BD 03, 04 (really long openers) Phantom 96 Star 90 And probably my very favorite end of a closer would have to be the Cavies in 92. That final few sets of drill is still one of the most aesthetically memorable moments for me ever in drum corps.
Jared_mello
I honestly don't think anyone can truly reflect on this thread and not wind up picking Star '90 in AT LEAST their top 3. Spirit '01, since I doubt anyone else is going to say it....love how it gets louder and louder. Phantom '04....my god.
Jared_mello
double post. random thought of the moment: seattle '05 came on my itunes; its on shuffle right now. why do they sound great (though not as good as 02-04) in the first two movements, and even the closer (with some exceptions), but sound AWFUL during stairway to heaven?? strange. chris ncsu
Can't mention Cadets for this without mentioning 1997.
ekleve
2000 Bluecoats: Starts off slow and docile. Steadily builds to a spectacular climax with a sustained chord that comes close to completely drowning out the battery! to the hornline that year! 2001 Bluecoats: Baritones go CHA CHA CHA!!! 2002 Bluecoats: Wasn't very loud but the box cutter drill was sweet. 2001 Madison: Need I say more? 1999 SCV: Love the way the minimalism fades off. 2000 SCV: So intense it makes you want to go postal! 1996 Phantom: Holy god that was sweet! Gives me chills every time!
