(old navy tradition from ww2 and submarines, you put it upside down bristles up out the door in our case to signify a sweep, or in their case, no damage/losses...yes, i'm joining the navy) Hey thats funny--I actually knew about that as well because in marching band one year we had a "clean sweep" (we won all shows all year long and at finals won all captions as well--now that HAS to be a sweep under everyone's dictionary--especially since the other band was like 40 members larger and beaten us for years and two years before had won a national title).
