québécois
be careful what you wish for ~ you just might get it . . . You're right, Liz, after last Labor Day in Rochester, a snowstorm wouldn't be out of the question. It doesn't matter, though, because many years ago I did the parade and an exhibition at the Quebec Winter Carnival. After that, *nothing* is cold. Andy Hey, listen ! It's not that cold up north. And I can tell you that Les Diplomates will be hot.
Andyroo
Hey, listen ! It's not that cold up north. And I can tell you that Les Diplomates will be hot. I'm sure they will be - and I'm very much looking forward to seeing them again after all these years. I'm pretty sure that the last time I saw them was at Mission Drums - probably in '66 or '67. québécois
last time I saw them was at Mission Drums - probably in '66 or '67.Ahhhhhh................. the rotating box. Nice. Les Diplomates have competed for the last time in September 1973, at the DCA competion in Rochester and they finished 4th. So, they'll be back in Rochester, in 2007, 34 years later. standy
My opinion is that all the alumni corps are there to entertain, not compete. If DCA has extra cash to hand out they should either share it with any and all corps who participate in the weekend festivities for travel costs. Just my opinion. melligene
My opinion is that all the alumni corps are there to entertain, not compete. If DCA has extra cash to hand out they should either share it with any and all corps who participate in the weekend festivities for travel costs. Just my opinion. If you look back through the archives on this subject I think that you will find that these monies were given in rememberance of and to honor the late great Pepe Notaro (spl) and were specifically designated to this venue. They were not the monies of DCA to distribute in any other way. It was made very clear by the benefactor that this be an award for entertainment value only and to be decided by a vote of the fans.
