Going into the Wayback Machine, its 1974 for me. Saw the Corps for the first time ever at the World Open that year. Shostakovich "Festive Overture" and the Finale of 5th Symphony Off the Line?!! Are you kidding me?!!! :worthy: I was entralled with them that night. I was on the verge of leaving the Activity that year. Not after that!

For me its was the '82 show. They took the field while already doing drill - and the whole show was just :worthy:

The marching warmup was fun to do. We worked on that drill with the same intensity as we did the rest of the drill. To this day, I can't find an audio or video recording of our marching warmup. It's not on the 1982 Legacy DVD, nor on any of the official DCI recordings. Oh well. :(

I know right! I was excited when I got the '82 DVD - but it only starts after the marching warm-up. I must have been 13 or 14 at the time, and I couldn't beleive how Phantom just "took" the field like that. I was actually afraid that they had started their show too early.

I spent the rest of the year "reenacting" my favorite Phantom moments with some plastic chains from my mom's garden - she wasn't too amused!

Later,

Mike

1975. Never saw it, (other than the telecast) had some DC album with them on it that I wore out. Next thing I know, I was there at the 76 Mothers Day camp.

Sorry to spark the debate. My opinion was just that. I love Phantom, and can let a few years of shows that I didn't care for go by without ruining the regular high they give me. Personally I don't remember much of 87 without going back to the tapes, but I had a good friend and fomer Sky member marching that year and he wasn't to excited about the show. If Andy Causey is reading this, hey from an old Ryder.
