VKMello84 Posted June 15, 2007 Share Posted June 15, 2007 The Bluecoats will be your 2007 DCI World Champions I have been wondering for a while now who the next corps to claim at title would be. I find myself filled with doubt that there actually will be one. Phantom was assumed for almost two decades. Some doubt may have set in around 1985 & 1986, but they dispelled that in a hurry. In various years it has looked like certain corps were poised to get in there and contend the next year, but it hasn't happened. I thought Glassmen, Bluecoats, or Boston in various year were right there on the cusp. These corps were not only unable to step up the following year, they were unable to repeat the level they had attained. This goes to show just how difficult it is to put out the sort of product that Cavaliers, Cadets, Blue Devils and the other heavies seem to make look easy. I have no idea who the next new champion will be, but I am anxious to see it. If Bluecoats or Crown could muster a third place finish this year, I would consider it a tremendous accomplishment. I think Troopers and Academy are going to be tough too. I really don't know about Mandarins. I also think Cascades will improve, but I don't know if that means a higher placement. Gosh, here I go....
