camel lips Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I did not want to clutter the Brigs going inactive thread with this question so I started a whole new subject on the matter. Now that Brigs have gone inactive what does that do to their member status? Do they still get to vote? Seems like I recall Carolina Gold having to go inactive in 2006 (?) (or maybe it was 2007) and not getting to vote on matters concerning DCA Does this mean that the 11th place corps last year the Kilties now take their place at the table?
TomPeashey Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 since the spring meeting is pretty much the "draw" for position meeting with little or no voting going on, it's kind of a moot point - a vote on anything during the summer months would be most rare...
KeithHall Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 There's probably 60 to 100 people out there (between Brigs and Cru) that have to go somewhere....Statesmen or White Sabres. I can see Statesmen getting huge this year and maybe Sabres growing some more. Some other corps will also benefit by this unfortunate event.
LegalEagle50 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 If both Cru and Brigs had that many people currently wouldn't they BE fielding and not taking the summer off???? Like I said in the Brigs thread, no one actually benefits from this any way you look at it IMO. It hurts the whole activity. Not just DCA. And yes, I feel that way when any corps calls it a day, DCI or DCA.

Most of the brass players who were at Brigs are staying on to foster our mini-corps and other ensembles that will form. Plus we'll be adding our DCI kids once they all get back from tour

Maybe fill in here and there but not so many more bodies that you'd really notice. Still in shock that Cru and Brigs are both off this year..... Hope this isn't going to be a trend. Bond624 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I believe in the other thread it said the shows they normally sponsor they will still do so..

cone256 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Thanks.. I am glad we will still have a choice of shows.... Yes the shows are still going to happen. I'm personally excited to see MBI at the Jamestown show! I've always been a fan of them, even though they were another competitor
