Going down the World Class Prelims Placement, with the 2015 horn usage, followed by the horn changes I've noticed/read/etc-not sure on percussion...
So out of WC, 11 hornlines on Yamaha, 6 on Jupiter Quantum, 1 on Kanstul, 4 on some King derivative.
Oh, they absolutely have for *some* corps. It's a great way to generate cash. Some folks here will deny it, but it's the truth. And it's not a bad thing, either, as long as the corps is providing value for that dollar.
Well if this is the case, I am looking forward to seeing if the Cadets guard will be much better this upcoming season.
Well I have no information as to why your son was cut, but i think it is great that he has decided to march elsewhere. That builds chops and experience; something he will have on his "resume" if and when he decides to try out for Cadets again. But the other thing is he may decide he loves Boston and completes a career with them instead. Neither idea is a bad thing as they are both great corps.
Your first selection led me towards a different show:
"The OCD in Me" featuring:
Cherry Cherry -- Neil Diamond
Sugar Sugar -- The Archies
Mony Mony -- Tommy James & The Shondells
Louie, Louie -- The Kingsmen
Monday Monday -- The Mamas & the Papas
Fun, Fun, Fun -- The Beach Boys
Say Say Say -- Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson
Sing Sing Sing -- Benny Goodman
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!/Money, Money, Money -- ABBA
Turn Turn Turn -- The Byrds
Bye Bye Bye -- NSYNC
(There are SO MANY more out there.)
As with every new season, I remain optimistic until proven otherwise. Cadets 2015 was still a great show regardless of placement. I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with in 2016 and hopefully there are some lessons learned from last season.

Showing that the 2016 corps is serious about being great and that the admin and faculty are ready to meet the challenge, Phantom Regiment has liaisoned with Mother Nature to show the power of the SUTA by dressing Rockford and lower Wisconsin, in fact the whole Upper Midwest, in "Regiment white" to welcome the auditionees to the Phantomettes and Regiment Percussion this weekend. Weather.com is reporting 8.6 inches of the white stuff fell in Rockford itself. Luckily, the corps is ensconced safely away leaving some of the meteorological energy for the conductors and Big Winds next weekend in Beloit. Mother Nature is taking her role as consultant quite seriously and discussions continue whether to keep these dedicated auditionees a bit longer or to bring their enthusiasm back home sooner for the Thanksgiving traditions. New baseball size spheres of white are being tested by the weapons line in various experiments. Stay tuned to learn what they decide is SUTAble.
