  1. I saw the whole show except for the Conn. Alumni. I appreciated all. I really enjoyed Bucs, Cabs and Cabs Alumni. I somewhat enjoyed Sky. And that's all I'm willing to say, which is more than anyone else apparently.
  2. It was great to see all my Cabs friends at the Wayne show last week. Had a great chat with that big guy who can't seem to spell his last name correctly. In fact I almost mistakenly stole his car! Behind the Mask is a super high quality dynamic presentation that has unlimited potential. Kudos to Mike for masterfully overcoming the challenges that have been thrown at him this past few weeks. The drum line will be challenging all by championships. Hope to see you all in Kingston. Give 'em hell in Lewisburg!
  3. Thanks Danielle. Can two eat for < $25? I know-I'm cheap. Putting a son through private college and dealing with gas prices like everyone.
  4. I can vouch for the OCC WGI percussion ensemble as my son and a few other former students participated. The show and performance quality were first rate and all had a great time. Thanks Brigs!
  5. You people #####ing about a review should get a life! Right on Sayre, keep 'em coming!
  6. Can anyone reccomend a good casual restaurant in the area? Thanks
  7. Enjoy it while you can Dave. It's not going to get better because it is all subjective now. Add that to the "homogenization" of musical opinion and you have an entirely predictable and boring result.
  8. IMO it all comes down to a lack of gonads on the part of the "highly respected panel" which, from my experience is basically a mutual admiration society. No one wants to be honest if it is against the flow out of fear of being ostracized by their peers. Nothing new here. My opinion only. Flame on!
  9. As a logical extension of the subject at hand: Any reccomendations for a good casual eaterie relatively close to the show site?
  10. Having survived the Clifton parking lot ordeal isn't it funny that I had to wait all this time to get a good explanation of the "Crusader Rabbit" thing. Then again, they tell me I wasn't allways that coherent in the early 70's LOL
  11. WOW. That was like the second show I ever marched in (Grenadiers). That parade was great going under the RR overpass-huge reverb! Marched in several subsequent shows at that unique venue and always looked forward to it.
  12. Great move guys! Hated those horizontal tambourines. Good luck for the "Classic" Hope to see you there.
  13. Get your own post! Very uncool PS- I am not affiliated with WS in any way so please don't blame them for my reaction. Best of luck WS!
  14. Thanks for the welcome! Joe and the guys have been working music incessantly. I know he won't march until he is deemed to be 100% ready but with his dedication I don't think he will miss much.
  15. Wow! I guess I just thought that a man of his stature would go on forever. Condolences to Paul Jr. and the rest of the family. Paul Sr. will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him.
  16. I know the new "CABS-North" contingent is very enthused about their return Sunday. My wife and I are likewise excited about resuming our support for the coming year. GO CABS!
  17. Best of luck in your rehab efforts Tom.
  18. Considering the inevitability of the instrumentation trends in DCI, I think those units should be called "Competition Bands" or something similar. That would seem to be sufficiently inclusive to allow these trends to acheive their inexorable conclusions. I would have no problem if DCA type corps retained the current label, at least for now.
  19. Is this one from '78? I think I recognize my old buddy Tom Nanni on the 2nd Kbd.
  20. Off topic, I know. BEST 4th place corps of ALL TIMES.......ROCHESTER CRUSADERS 1972 (and tied for 4th at that)
  21. 32nd note double roll @ 200 bpm. (200 X 32)/4 = 1600 beats per minute. Just to put it in terms we can understand.....Not Easy! Edited for poor math, sorry.
  22. Sorry guys....shot in the dark. I guess I remembered that program from around '65. Good old Ray Bennet (RIP) on drums!
