  1. I got to know Bob on the HoF cruise. A real Drum Corps gentleman. Yes he is a fighter.
  2. Nashville is a special place for me as many of you know. It breaks Peggy's and My heart to see the pictures. We actually saw a picture of a table under water where we had eaten. People were saved from a Time Share that we usually use. God Bless MCL people an all people from Tenn. If there is anything we can do Scott just call.
  3. Having worked on a couple of small projects with Mike Spuck, I'll chime in that he and his group are very classy people. Great job as usual Prime Time
  4. Bring your G bugle to a AM Legion Post and ask if they ever need anyone to play taps. You will be as proud of DC than you can imagine.
  5. Latin player I hought he was one of the POPES. But then again Rita isn't a nun.
  6. Anyone looking for rules write to dcaiande@aol.com As Tom said applications should be online by early May. SEPTEMBER 3RD, MAIN STREET ROCHESTER THE PLACE TO BE.
  7. Wow Leslie and Kay in the same post. Allen you are the man.
  8. I judged all through the 80ies and was DCA judge coordinater from 88 to 93. I never had anymore problems with the Skyliners than any other Corps. I was often invited to their after glow parties. Bill Holton and I had many fruitful conversation with Coz and Micky for the betterment of all corps. Rumors can get out of hand! I would hope everyone hopes Sky gets back on the field. "GO SKY"
  9. Jim there actually are many contestants who enter with older equipement. The three Tenors have won the trio contest many times, Dick Pomerleau has enterted the Sop contest as many as 3 times with three different pieces of equipement to gives a history lesson and was always well receieved. Ken Norman has used his one vale on several occassions Bob Halenburger from St Joes was given a medal last year in the Rifle cagetory for keeping alive tradition, he enters the Rifle contest every year with a M1 Rifle. Doug Kleihans, John Flowrs and last year Jack and Joe from Sky have given history lessons with Rope Drum. So jump and and have some fun. If there were several with the same type of equipement who would enter the judges can award a medal. This often happens in the duet and tio or quartet areas. But medal aside come on in the wate is fine. DCA FRIDAY NIGHT 9/3 WHERE ELSE WOULD YOU RATHER BE.
  10. Rule 1: All contestants must be a member of a past or present All Age Competitive Corps or active member of an Alumni Corps. "Sine" can certainly enter. They are a NEW ALUMNI Corps thus the word present. DCA tries to take all interested into I&E. Applications shall be out probably by May.
  11. Very seldom get these people but this one I know. A friend and a good competitor and judge, it is high time to see him out there a real talent. Chatted with him after prelims. He always says I tell the same story about him so I'm not going to mention it.
  12. You are right Tom another great one has left us. My sympathies to my Bonfiglio friends.
  13. A few weeks and you'll be the same Tom again. It takes time but they know what they are doing. I'm going 12 years since my bi-pass. See you o the road.
  14. I played with the Appleknockers but did not make the trip to the HALL that year for "Evening With THe Corps." I believe that you would also here Hardy (Solon) Carasass playing a solo of the "Man I Love." Jim Cocola played Jacks Bullock"s contra and Don Phipps was the string bass player. Hardy is nonminated for the Hall of Fame and certainly derserves a spot, besides being a bulge soloist he became one of NY States best know visual designer.
  15. Jim if you go on the website now and book the Raddison or Plaza I think you can still get a room. They are in the middle of everything.
  16. Have a great time. I hear tell of a Mini Corps representing the Chicago Area showing up this year 2010 at DCA Championships> Have fun.
  17. Fran I figure you had to be 5 when you announced your first show. Go Appleknockers!!
  18. The Drum Corps community is proud of what Primt Time as accomplished. A good deed and one hell of a show. Why not take it on the road? 3 or 4 nights of fun in different areas and maye another 20 vets take the trip.
  19. A group could enter more than one entry. It happens all the time in the Esemble contest. We try to allow for all to take part if possible. As Tom said the rules are written to be inclusive not exclusive. For the record one more time. Alumni organizations are looked at as All AGE Organization!
  20. Gary a stand alone Mini can be legal, if they are an Alumni Mini Corps. Eagles, Ghost, Capitol Brass, are all considered stand alone all age Mini Corps. The majority of memebers have conmpeted with All Age Corps and they go to other functions besides the DCA Mini Show. To create a Corps just to compete at Mini may be a problem I would need some history. But as a rule we try to allow all to compete if possible. This group however sounded like a Highschool group to me. But I will of course help them, Tom sorry about the spelling I think I am going to ask if DCA with double my salary so I can higher and editor. How about a health update.
  21. 1. All contestants must be a member of a past or present All Age Competitive Corps or active member of an Alumni Corps. Don't be afraid to call Josh. Peashy is the hard guy to get along with, I'm laid back. But it doesn't sound like you would qualify, but we can discuss it.
  22. I am home with a bad case of the Flue. I looked forward to this for months. Mike video it for me. I wanted to see the enlarged Prime time!
  23. Anyone who has questions and always contact me at Rap48@aol.com. Tom is right 2010 package will come out later but if you are new or have a specific question send me an e-mail. And for Dick P. from Shen. Thanks for the complement but I am still not putting you on last, no matter how many solos you play.
