  1. I thought that too, but I'm guessing it's the webcast.
  2. Don't worry. I'm sure the Ens Music judge's number will reflect the out-of-balance electronics.......
  3. Are you sure it was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fast? Not just waaaaaaaaaay too fast, or maybe waaaaay too fast? (I quite liked their tempo.)
  4. Q (and bolded) FT Contest dynamics, my friends.
  5. Nice job outta Blue Stars! Anyone less lazy than me happen to know what their first score was last season?
  6. I have no insight, because I haven't seen anyone yet. But I just wanted to point out that every year without fail, folks pick Glassmen and Blue Knights -- more than just about any other corps -- as corps that will fall out of the top 12. And every year, they don't. Not saying they will or won't, but they certainly always seem to be most everyone's Failcorps.
  7. I might be the only one, but when I saw that first picture of the Spirit uniform in this thread, I liked it quite a bit. But then when I saw the picture of them on the field, I liked them less. Wonder why that is? Regardless, I always wait to decide whether I like a uniform until I've seen it on the field live, preferably under the lights.
  8. 08 BD 06 Cavies 05 Cadets (this, by the way, is my second fave of all time......behind PR 08 )
  9. I agree with all of this, the bolded part in particular. I'd be very happy to arrange a horn book half as well as JD.
  10. If Dan Acheson ever does decide to step down, I'd like to nominate Jonathan Willis as his replacement.
  11. NO! I'd almost demand that if they were to pull New World out again, that there be a short phrase--even just a few bars--WITH the ride cymbal, as a quick homage to 1989!
  12. ...but perfect camouflage for an airborne infantry unit!
  13. I'm really just playing the Devil's Advocate here. I don't doubt New World could be redone and redone well. My only comment was how such programming would come off in relation to their recent programming. Given the landscape of this year's shows, I don't doubt it would have fit in well. And the bold above is, quite obviously, the problem. I really think the Red Violin, with the right visual package, could have placed higher by about three places.
  14. Coming off of Spartacus, wouldn't New World have come off as too obvious? Kind of a "Hey, we re-constituted Spartacus and won, maybe New World will too?" Of course, now that they had such a rough year (for them at least), now it would almost seem desperate for 2010. I'm all for New World in 2011!
  15. I don't know about anyone else, but I have a big problem with INT getting to go on TWICE at semis. Talk about an unfair advantage.
  16. Dear ilovenewengland, Please read my post slowly. I see you might be unaccustomed to reading full sentences with proper construction, so take extra time with the punctuation. If you've read any of my posts this year, you'll remember that I have been critical of their visual all season. However, my point was that in the grand scheme of their largely weaker visual captions, visual performance was stronger than visual ensemble, GE visual or colorguard. But overall we agree (I think, given the difficulty I had interpreting your post): the judge (isn't there more than one?) got it right.
  17. I can't speak to Blue Stars' visual performance over the last three shows, but I would offer the opinion that for all of Regiment's issues, visual performance was actually their strongest caption (visually, that is).
  18. Me, too. I enjoyed this year's show far more than most of their other offerings. Definitely not a hot dog corps for me.
  19. What a cool video. Awesome job, Devs...congrats!
  20. I feel obliged to mention this to the OP: If you are on, or have any influence over the Crown BOD, and you do in fact let Leon May go, please please PLEASE give him a severence package that includes a plane ticket to Rockford, Illinois. Thank you.
