  2. I'm curious why this thread hasn't been closed like all the other ones that were resurrected after several years? This thread was 5 years old.
  3. From this thread: http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...07838&st=30
  4. Dang, I thought this was going to be a thread about the VK cymbal line from the '80s.
  5. So, they're going to have scuff marks and tears and such? Broken snaps/buttons? Cracked hats? Dirty shoes?
  6. I don't agree with this because it's like saying that just because I'm not a figure skater I have no interest in watching figure skating. It just doesn't make sense. (Disclaimer: I actually do not like to watch figure skating, but it's not because I don't do it.)
  7. I would think there's a good chance that someone very young could have marched a World Class corps. Think about how many World Class corps there were back in the day. Even now someone like Pioneer could very well have someone very young in the snare line. I think a better question would be the youngest snare line member who was in a top 12 line. Obviously the fellow you speak of was in the top 12 his second year at age 13. We had a 14 year old in our snare line in '87.
  8. I spent three weeks in Oswego two years ago to work at the Nine Mile Point nuclear plant outage.
  9. I don't know why, but I cannot stop laughing.
  10. My mom may still have an article from a local newspaper (I think). I'll find out and let you know. I remember her asking me a couple years ago if I or John may want it, but I don't know if she still has it. By the way, in the '88 picture in my signature, that's Hord second from left. He's still a good friend of mine.
  11. Don't really want to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong, but I'm going to to it anyway. Maybe what I quoted isn't the issue. Maybe he (she) just doesn't want to be listening to older years that have to be turned up to hear better, then when a more current year comes on it's way too loud. I have this same problem with the Rush CDs I listen to in my car. The older ones that aren't remastered were recorded at a much lower volume that the more current ones and the remasters. So I have them in my CD changer and set to "random". One song comes on from an older, non remastered CD and I have to turn it up to be able to hear it better. Then all of a sudden one of the newer songs comes on and it about busts my eardrums.
  12. Or, just click the "" reply" button and that's all. No need to click the "quote" button first. NOW you can post like a 4 year DCP vet.
  13. Here's something interesting. We adopted our daughter. She was born on February 2nd. When we adopted her we could have changed her birthdate to any day we wanted. So if I wanted her to eventually march and get the "extra" year, we could have put her birthdate as June 1 on her birth certificate.
  14. There's a Facebook group that a guy I marched with created. You should check it out. I can't post the link here because my work has Facebook blocked.
  15. Sweet! And it's on a Friday, the day before my birthday. I'm there.
  16. I can see that now that you mention it. I was thinking the left side of the "C" as more of the front of the shako though. I just think the "C" is too skinny of a line.
  17. To be honest, when I see any shows from like the early '70s, I find them to be kinda boring. They just remind me of old high school band shows with the symmetrical drill and the drum lines doing elevator drills, etc. Just not my cup of tea. But to be fair, I haven't seen very many from that era, so I could just be making a snap judgement from a few viewings.
  18. What the holy heck is on top of their shakos?
  19. Really? Seriously? This makes me sad. I don't even particularly care for the new Bluecoats' uniforms, but this should never happen.
