  1. Wait a minute Scouts 1971 - Alice in Wonderland, wasn't director's daughter Alice. Real controversial show. OMG!! Cadets 06 Alice in Wonderland. Starred director's daughter as Alice. Real controversial show. More conspiracy - both director's last name began w/ 'H' !!! Coincidence?? Perhaps not.
  2. A good point. Maybe need some sort of 'unknown marcher' nomination, which represents everyone who entered the field in competetion.
  3. From his (Kaihatsu) Illiana Lancer days "Are you finished complaining so I can stop ignoring you?"
  4. It all depends on which judging system you use. Not to mention different show legnths, and grounding/boundry requirements
  5. He co-hosted the 1979 championships on PBS (Rondo's 1st year). They gave him a soprano to try during a break - almost caused a riot in the stands as the crowd was waiting for a 3 octave rip.
  6. Cavvies should have won it all in 91. Star was flat at finals (I was there). Cavvies were on fire. Consensus around me (side 2, 0 yard line, absolute top row) was cavvies 1st, SCV 2nd, Phantom 3rd, Star 4th. Even Rondo said on the broadcast that Star was off that night.
  7. What you are describing is something akin to an Inspector General. Not a bad idea for DCI to have one, but they need to be set up so they can't be influenced by DCI.
  8. One thing DCI has been doing lately is intervening when something is truely amiss. Consider the Troopers last year and Magic after (?) 99 (?). From what I understand about how DCI is set up they need to self-police to avoid being held partly at fault from a legal standpoint. Innocent until proven guilty (by DCI BOD, I would guess). But I predict this whole topic will certianly be on the agenda at the next DCI BOD meeting. IIRC, it was Sept last year that they suspended the Troopers.
  9. Define expected - Seriously - has it been said somewhere what the expected ratings are?
  10. Similar to 'Give 100 monkeys 100 typewriters & one will write Shakespeare' Give one guy 100 polls and one will make sense :P PS- happy birthday Terrance
  11. Here we go again. The early off-season is off and running...
  12. Anaheim did in '72. About 44 horns, 22 drums, 28 guard. 76 Blue Devils had about 56 horns.
  13. I worked up there (DC) at the time, I recollect it was at the field the Redskins play in, vs RFK. RFK is in a very rough neighborhood.
  14. Yes, I am old. As my daughters remind me on a daily basis.
  15. Correct, but back when it was in place shows were a lot cleaner than they are now (at least at the top). I also admit that the shows today attempt way more than back in the tick era. Today's shows would score poorly under the tick system, yesterday's shows would fare poorly under today's. But I do recall some quote to the effect that 'Clean execution leads to high GE scores' And I think that is at the gist of the gripe - by August fans deserve performers in step, at proper interval, and dressed forms.
  16. Pilate: But what is truth? It truth unchanging law? We both have truths. Are mine the same as yours? Crowd: Pilate , crucify Him! Remember Ceasar, you have a duty! So keep the peace now crucify Him! You'll be demoted! You'll be deported! So keep the peace now crucify Him!
  17. If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything (Mark Twain)
  18. How hard would it be to digitize this I wonder? Also wonder what the copyright status is. Sounds like something every drill designer should see.
