  2. I hope they return. I had a student march the "final" year in 2005 and I hope her corps can field again. (Especially since my old corps is inactive now.) :(
  3. Even though it was hot, I hope you enjoyed your stay at our school in Houston! B)
  4. We have hosted a corps at our Jr. High for the last two years and have taken a group to see the show in Houston. I actually had one kid hop on the bus midseason in 2005 and finish the year with Kiwanis! :) (I'm proud of you, Erica!)
  5. It depends on the state and district. But I will say that TX has a pretty decent pay scale (and I am only a Jr. High Director).
  6. You're correct. I think the question refers to the 1999 show.
  7. 1993 Minnesota Brass Loved that "Cops and Robbers" show!
  8. Congratulations on Director of the Year! It a much deserved award!
  9. The Bluecoats have looked good and made steady improvements in the last few years. They are only .125 points out of 4th. Anything can happen on Finals night. Bluecoats, Spirit and Cavaliers re my favorite shows this year, so best of luck to them! GO BLOO!!!
  10. The G Soprano will sound a minor third lower than the Bb Trumpet. Hope this helps with the pitch question. I actually think it is more freeblowing to play high on a Soprano, but range is range on any instrument.
  11. Hey folks. I know that many of ya'll sell tickets and other things in this forum, but I am selling my remaining DCI CDs to finish paying my corps dues for this summer (for Sr. Corps). Please check out the auctions, as I would like these discs to go to a good home. Included on the list are BD 4CD set (Through the Years 1974-1995), SCV 2 CD set, 2 different Cavaliers 2 CD sets, two PR discs, and more! :) Thanks! http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZdaveblues...1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0?

  13. 1992 "exSIGHTment of Sound" in Houston, TX. Saw the Cavaliers "Revolution!" show along with Phantom's "1812." What a great year! Turned me on to drum corps and got me searching for a way to take part in the activity (Bayou City Blues Sr.)! :)
  14. Already seen it, but it is quite amusing.
  15. Hey - I just marched a Sr. Corps show this weekend with a Bluecoat alum (Scott Miller - Contra '92). Fun guy and fun show this Saturday! If you missed it, Brass on the Bayou (in Houston) was great! We had Frontier Sr. (from Dallas), Trinity (junior from Seguin, TX), the Arabia Shrine Corps (with an old VK alum playing contra) and Gulf Coast Sound Sr.
  16. Checked it out - it was pretty impressive! Thanks for the info!
  17. Yeah - the Bluecoats continue to impress me. I wish I could actually see the entire show. I keep hearing about how much it rocks!
