Ok - I know this is a long shot, but a coworker of mine lost her corps jacket in a flood a while back and as a surprise gift, I'm going to order her a replacement jacket. I'd like to get the finalist patches for the years she marched (if possible). I'm looking for Finalist patches from 1990-1993 without breaking the bank. (After all, I'm just a poor HS band director!) Please contact me at valk312 (at) hotmail (dot) com. Thanks in advance!

I have a King K-20 Soprano Bugle for sale in very good condition. (Serial number 112XXX) It has very little finish wear and all slides and valves move freely. The only thing missing on the horn is the thumb saddle for the first valve slide. The case has seen better days, but will be included. I am asking $250 (which is what I paid for it) + shipping. Payment by PayPal only, please. Please email me at valk312(at)hotmail(dot)com for interest or questions. Thanks! David

URGENT PRAYERS NEEDED FOR MATT CARROLL
DNgo replied to skajerk's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I don't know Matt personally, but prayers and best wishes for continued progress and recovery. -
I marched with Bayou City Blues (Sr.) from 94-99 (which would have been my age-out year). I auditioned for the Cavaliers in 95, but couldn't march due to financial reasons. I would have enjoyed it, I'm sure, but I do not regret doing DCA instead. I loved it so much that when I had an opportunity to march again, I competed with the Gulf Coast Sound from Houston in 2006-2009. You can't go wrong marching in DCA if you have a passion for the activity. Hope you enjoy your experience as much as I did!

Are the 2-valve sopranos silverplate finish or chrome?
-
Beautiful horns! Whoever gets these will not regret the purchase. I switched from a 3-valve model when I bought the K-20 I have now and WILL NOT go back!

What year did you begin in drum corps?
DNgo replied to Andyroo's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
October of 1993 with Bayou City Blues (Sr.) in Houston. Fun times! -
Well said!

what was the smallest Corps to compete ?

I remember back in '94 or '95, The Marion Cadets had 5 horn players. They played God Bless the Child and it was pretty gutsy! I was quite impressed. -

We lose a great drum corps MOM
DNgo replied to TomPeashey's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
Having spent my childhood years growing up with Paul looking out for me in Bayou City Blues, this is sad news to hear. Ma Chaffee always took care of everyone. If you were marched (especially with her kids), you were family. Sincere condolences not only from the Ngo famliy (my sister and I marched with the Chaffee's in BCB), but from the entire BCB and GCS families. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. -
My '07 corps pic is 10 x 20. I don't know if they are all that size and I haven't received my '08 pic yet. Hope this helps!

Are they silver-plate finished or chrome finished? I migh tbe interested in a Silver 2-valve DEG Sop. Please let us know ASAP. Thanks!

To Our Drum Corps Brethren On The Gulf Coast
DNgo replied to MiniSopGuy's topic in DCA - All-Age Corps Discussions
We are still without power, but we sustained no significant damage at our house. Back fence is down and of course no A/C, but we are well and (patiently) waiting for power to be restored. The neighborhood looks pretty rough, with roof damage to most of the two story homes and trees and street signs (and lights) down everywhere. Definitely a major storm! -

Streator, IL The grass was so high, it didn't matter if you were marching or plodding - no one could see your feet!
