  1. Last year was the first time my corps made it to the east coast. I noticed that the crowds were amazing over there! Some of our best shows were in MA and NY.
  2. I don't know how Denver is to the Open corps lately but. . . back in 2005 The Academy opened up Drums Along the Rockies, that's where we ended out tour that year and Oregon Crusaders performed as well. Wow! What an experience, for me, that was better then we went to Madison for finals. I wish more Open class corps got to have that experience.
  3. While in Buffalo, NY the announcer did his intro about the Academy and our history then as the whole corps is set and ready he says "Drum majors Chris Kotterman and Ian Templan is your corps ready?" He announced our tour directors! haha One of the staff members could be heard yelling "Yea Ian!" before the start of the show. Thank goodness the colorguards opening set was facing the endzone. We were trying not to laugh right before we had to get into our aggressive role
  4. Academy had 28. That's just about the total number of age-outs that the corps has had from 04-07.
  5. I'd have to disagree with them being compared next to the Cavies and Cadets guard. Their score is phenomenal and something to be VERY proud of however, they are a division II/Open class guard and their staff would have written their choreography to those standards not something to be compared to a DIV I top 5 corps.
  6. Two performances in one day is tough, I always want to sleep after shows so having to warm up again and get excited is diffucult.
  7. the high school sign at the Lake Havasu show said "Welcome Drum Line International"
  8. a few summers ago I had a 2 small tan lines on each of my ears from my earings. fun stuff.
  9. distracting to members. They can lose focus
  10. Couldn't agree more. Drum corps is not about placement; it's about hard work and the love of performance, rooting for everyone because they're all working long hot hours in the sun. It's not about gossip on a forum. Shame on anyone who can't see and appreciate what these kids are doing. At the end of the season no matter what corps they're marching they're walking away with more than a score on a judges sheet.
  11. The Tempe sports comlex is located on the n/e corner of Warner and Priest, just next door to the Arizona Cardinals training center. From I10 exit either Elliot or Warner and head south 1 mile to Priest. I believe Tempe sports complex is WARNER & HARDY not Priest. Hope those who are comming get this before heading out! :)
  12. Yea, some of the Academy drum line members were invited to the stadium a little while back. Don't know too many details but I'm betting that's what you saw.
  13. Personally, I enjoyed the show from a musical standpoint. :) I love the music from their show as well, it's amazing. I loved the white pants they had that year and the guards uniforms were very nice :)
  14. Academycg gal, it was obviously TSRTS13 intent to stir up trouble. Don't give him the attention he's looking for. However, posing as an Academy member isn't helping. I know The Academy strictly forbids members from posting on public forums, please think before creating an account like you have. It's a shame TSRTS13 is representing ECJ the way he has been, don't do the same to Academy. This thread should be closed.
