I like how everyone is basing this narration AND THEY HAVENT EVEN HEARD IT YET. Granted, neither have I. For all we know it could just be "And there off!" to signal the horse race!!!! To say you will absolutely hate it without even hearing the narration is ridiculous! So what if you don't like the prospect of narration. The fact is, its legal and drum corps will continue to use it whether one person agrees with it or not.

Yeah, for me it just doesn't scream Bluecoats to me ... but I do like them alot better far away. I wish they would have kept the white pants ... but oh well.

I was in a bar ... i'm not 21, but my dad is a bartender there so I was talking with the bar owners. (I work at a catering place and I got out of work at 12, and had to go to my dad's work for a ride). Well the bar owner mentioned to me why I was't marching or something (I've gotten an injury that doesnt allow me to march anymore) and I explained why I was back, and he introduced me to his father who apparently marched with the Pittsburgh Rockets. He also mentioned two other corps he had marched but I can't recall them. It was pretty neat ^_^

I'll have to see it on the field. Why is everyone going to black pants? I can see why .. but ... WHY!?!?!?!

Oh yeah ... Seattle Cascades: "Breathe the air ... we might be airborne!" Not annoying, but I always thought it was funny. The lyrics in that piece are in the original concert piece, correct?

It was "Go HECTOR!"" I knew the people yelling it and in fact was dating the guy at the time who got that encouraging yell during the flag feature.

I'd suggest thermal socks for the bus as well ... your feet WILL get extremely cold!

Something I've learned ... don't eat hot breakfast before a really long morning block. If you want to eat it ... make sure you lay down before you get outside. Bad experiences were had by me when I ate and ran ... same goes with milk! And if you drinnk any of the sugary stuff, make sure to drink two glasses of water to counteract.

While I agree that members should not post only to demean or berate another corps, or to only proclaim the awesomeness of their own corps, I don't agree that a corps has to "gag" it's members ... especially right in the contract. Members have a right to their opinion, but they have to say them tastefully as to not make their organization look bad. I've had an experience like this with my former corps, where the director frowned upon message board posting or even discussing shortcomings of the corps on blogs. It was frustrating, because I felt like my free speech had been limited, until I looked at my writings as an onlooker, and saw how badly I was portraying said corps, even if I did have a horrible experience. I think that a corps director should just simply discuss the etiquette which members should follow on message boards. Ususally people are smart and know what to say and not say. I try not to let one person speak for an entire organization, but there are some people who have left sour tastes in my mouth about some corps simply by their actions.

Crown last year had about 2-3 girls in each section of the hornline, with the most being in the baritone line. There was indeed a girl in the snare line and she was awesome!

I was a clarinet player. I hated clarinet so much that after I learned baritone for my first corps I dropped it and took up euphonium as a major instrument, and am now majoring in music ed on it.

Bluecoats 06 in my opinion, let me down. I guess I was just expecting another 2005 book, 2005 music and 2005 style. Yeah, I was living in the past with Bluecoats in 2006, but they executed what they were given well, and I'd have to agree I didn't really care for the closer.

Cavies 04 for me too, and I'm gonna go personal and say Crown 06. When I got the music I was a little "What?" ... but wow, what a show that turned out to be. I'd have to say that Blue Devils 06 surprised me too, I really REALLY enjoyed what they did.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would (I always remembered hearing the beginning of their show off from a distance, and for some reason the opening always bugged me, but maybe because it was always stuck in my head afterwards) ... I was a HUGE fan of Ave Maria, but the rest of the show I just didn't enjoy as much. Don't get me wrong, it was executed very well and deserved it's placement, I just couldn't get into the show as much as I could others.

When I joined my first corps and was offered a spot I nearly huggeed the caption head. I had only been playing 3 months and was NOT expecting to be contracted, especially since a lot of veterans didn't even get theirs yet! The corps I currently march with I came on board at Spring Training, and signed my contract there. When I got the email saying I was to fill the hole, I was ecstatic. I couldn't have been more happy than I was in that moment.

How about "Touchdown Jesus"? I forget where it is, but apparently a lot of corps have seen it.

Yep. I've marched two summers (with two different corps) and plan to spend my remaining three with the one I currently am at.

Nope. Nothing was better than what we got finals night. Nothing.

It affected MY personal choice because as a music educator, I want to teach marching band heavily. I don't want to completely leave out concert band and such, but what my real passion in music is is the performing and pageantry arts side of music, like marching band. Which is why I chose to go to IUP, which has a reallyexcellent marching band program (and a very nice music education program to boot, in fact all of the education programs here are top notch!)

Was this the show at Marshall Stadium, out of curiousity?
