  1. Gracefully march around the pile and right back into ranks. ##### does NOT look good on white spats. I think of the West Allis Western Days Parade as one of the most challenging one for this. Lots of horses and bands in the auld days.
  2. Steve Campbell, as was mentioned in an earlier thread.
  3. I had my powder blue Kilties jacket on at the Alma highland games and met him. I think he was with Toronto Metro Police or Peel Regional pipe band. I was in Stockyards at the time. Small world huh?! One of the Campbell boys wasn't he?
  4. It is like comparing a red apple and a green apple. Madison is awesome. Period. Granted, I am a contrabass tuba guy and they favor the big horns.
  5. She actually does a lot of work behind the scenes, fund raising and writing grants. I think she is a great asset!
  6. I know where my peeps all hang out, we have our own thing, which is open to others and often does cross over other corps get togethers.
  7. Happy 50th to Roman and Sue! I am so very proud to have known you all these years! Do Mo Chara Maith! Slainte Mhor! Better Every Day!
  8. I have actually stayed in the same hotel, partied with them, shared the love and stories and am quite shocked by this. I thought my group was much rowdier than Renes, but I guess it is all in perspective. Very sad news indeed about DCA and that no resolution could be reached. Have fun in Euro, you will be missed next year.
  9. If you are interested in being on the mailing list for the upcoming Velvet Knights Alumni Corps please send your: name, email address, corps marched and years, section (Guard/Horn/Drumline/Pit), instrument to info@vkac.org EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
  10. Nice music track! All of my favorite tunes from over the years.
  11. Very much looking forward to seeing the corps this year! You were my favorite in your area! Yeah, two of my best auld time corps friends are Impulse dads. lol
  12. Poorly. I had a roll up foam thing because of a bad lower back and hip problem from my early youth. I did survive though.
  13. I do have a couple of good leads, but may have to go with this anyway, as horn + flight case is going to be expensive and around the same price as new from China...
  14. I have no idea and wish you would let the world know!!! lol (I bet it was when you were marching....!)
  15. Kenny Norman...did you drink you orange juice and take your vitamins this morning...:)
  16. Sort of like wearing the kilt, or a white satin blouse and kick pleats, or that old fasioned Garfield Cadet uni......
  17. Those horns were very well made and made to last back then. I would love to get my hands on a nice Duratone or Ultratone p/r bari. I guarantee the sound would be big and full and the intonation impeccable. It is what I learned on in my youth and how we were taught.
  18. If I am reading facebook correctly, there is a new SoCal alumni corps that has formed, Blue Phoenix. Does anyone have more information on this corps, which is scheduled to march in the Anaheim Spooktacular Parade.
  19. I remember looking at that pic a while ago. They seemed pretty beat up, IIRC. I no longer see a link on your website for them. Might need to take another look again.
  20. That is of course, another aulder spelling, such as The Stock Yard Kilty Band, out of Chicago, which was founded in 1921. SYKB
  21. Here is a nice one of the best all time Kiltie uniform, at least one of the most authentic.
