  1. Thanks for the review! I was wondering if anyone stuck around in the rain long enough who would actually want to review the corps in the end! As for the sun shining for the Caballeros, I went to a show in MA in 05 after DCI finals where the Cabs went on last and halfway through their show, the heavens opened and they got completely dumped on (I made a new friend who happened to have a huge umbrella and let me sit under it!). They finished out the show with quite a lot of energy, and it was a lot of fun to watch. Then, I was amazed at how they were able to keep it all together. On Sunday, I found out for myself. :)
  2. I used an excalibur indoor for 3 years, and it was fine. My friend managed to snap her blade in half during the first season we used them, but we figured it was just a bad sabre. Then when I brought mine outside, I snapped it in half when I dropped a quad. After that, I started hearing a lot more stories about breaking excaliburs. So, I bought myself a king. For me, the $200 wasn't too bad, but I know that for a guard of 15 or 20 (or if your guard is big, up to 30), that can be quite a lot of money for the organization. However, you can keep replacing $80 sabres (is that still what they are now? I haven't even looked at the prices in years) or you can buy $200 sabres and never have to replace them. It's one of those "big initial investment that will save you money in the long run" kind of things. Good luck with the sabres and the season!
  3. I'm pretty sure it's in Clifton, NJ on July 5.
  4. No way! I definitely didn't think I'd find other UCMB people here! UConn Marching Band '04-'07 and UConn winterguard '05-'08 I got here at a good time... I went to both bowl games but I came the year after all the double basketball championship rioting.
  5. I also am a huge fan of the MTX. They're about as close to sneakers as you could possibly get. They don't feature the "rolled heel" but to be honest, I haven't found that it makes much of a difference. I've also used Performance Plus and Dinkles. Performance plus were probably the most uncomfortable thing I ever put on my feet (I threw them on top of my high school after I found out I'd never have to wear them again). Dinkles are a little better, but to be honest if you're going to be marching in long parades, you want something comfortable that will support your feet. Just my $0.02 :)
  6. Sounds like a great lineup! I've only heard great things about JR, and both Adam and Tex rock hardcore :) I don't know Simon, but I'm sure he'll do a great job. Good luck!
  7. You're right Josh, this is something that started a few years ago. Remember Anna Grundle (Haha I can't even remember the real name of the school) last year in the pouring rain? You came up to me after we marched off the field, and we were both in tears, and you said you didn't know what "it" was, but you left it all on the field. It's been a great thing, first marching then watching the corps grow to the point it's at now. Congratulations to you, and to everyone else in the 2007 Sunrisers... You made this alum proud :)
  8. worst. pun. ever. not gonna lie, there were some awesome pictures taken of me :) look at that catch face!
  9. Congratulations to the Sunrisers! I'm really impressed with how the season went for you guys. Much love
  10. Aww Tex I'll definitely miss you up there... Who am I supposed to sit and drink Mike's with for 2 hours and talk about where I'm auditioning in the fall??? I'm glad I got to see you a few times this season though :)
  11. Thanks! Glad you enjoyed us... I won't speak for anyone else but I know I love performing that show. It was definitely great to see you last night!

  14. All I can say is that these past few weeks with Bush have been nothing short of amazing. The colorguard members as well as the staff are fun and amazingly talented, and I can't wait for this weekend! Yay!!!
  15. Congratulations! The "DCA Drum Major Fraternity" is always a good time... Especially during those drum major only retreats when nobody really knows what's going on... (Chris just looks like he knows )
