  6. Teal Sound is now a World Class Drum & Bugle Corps that will now compete for a spot on Saturday Night Finals. They will be judged on the World Class sheets and expected to put out a product as such. What Teal hasn't been granted is full voting status and a few other privliges that do not affect the competition status of Teal, this will be look at after the 2010 season. But for those looking to march in a World Class drum corps, Teal Sound is now an option for them. Best, Mike Steiner Brass Staff Marketing/Recruiting Director Teal Sound
  7. From Teal Sound: January 23, 2010 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Teal Sound has been granted access to the World Class schedule by the DCI Voting Membership at its annual meeting this weekend. Corps director Randy W. Blackburn said, "Teal Sound has made great strides in the past few months in the development of its operational processes to comply with the suggestions of the DCI Board of Directors. We are very pleased with the outcome of today's vote, but know that today's vote is not a rubber stamp on the rest of the season. We know that we have a lot of work to do to continue to prove to the DCI Voting Membership that we are worthy of classification as a World Class organization." Dr. Clifford A. Lipscomb, Chairman of the Board of The Teal Sound, Inc., added "This is a pivotal day for the whole organization and the culmination of a three-year plan by the new management team to get the corps access to the World Class schedule. This achievement would have been impossible without the hard work of our students, parents, volunteers, and administration. Now the really hard work begins!" President Brian Fisher added, "This decision today also strengthens our strategic alliances with other Florida organizations to provide quality world-class performance opportunities for our youth."

  13. I wonder how many people had that same thought last night during the closing ceremony? Get an "All-Star" group to do a show, then have the top 12 corps come in to do "America." Not "America/O Canada"......just "America." They had The Cadets in '96 - Atlanta.
  14. Hey.... Check out Murphy High School, I'm with Teal and we are staying here right now for a few days of rehearsal. This is a great facility and the band director Stan is incredible!!!!! Usually he hosts Cadets, and this year we at Teal have the pleasure of staying here.....it is worth a try to contact him. He is a big supporter of drum corps! Best of luck Magic...... ps - it's nice to see that Magic name again!
