  1. Had a whole bunch of question. But then I read the C2 announcement. So nevermind
  2. Nah trust me he didn't. Miss it. MacLeod= highlander. I have always loved the Yellow MacLeod tartan. And with the black battle jackets cool. But If I remember, the MacLeod in the movie was more like the RAF tartan ,Blue in it's base color and rather drab. ancient MacLeod I believe it was.. But as Bill stated the corps also represents the Buchanan clan. And that being well maybe find aanother clan tied to the Buchanans and see if their tartans are usable. Also it it not so easy to wear just any clans tartan. More than just a few require getting permission to use the clan's tartan. Some require exorbitant amounts of money to use the colors. Below is a link to Clan MacLeod tartans http://www.clan-macleod-scotland.org.uk/tartans.php
  3. This is why I have always admired you John.
  4. This will be the only time i will get to see my Kiltied family this year. Soooo excited!!!! Some may say the Kilties have off (from competition) this weekend, but if they were ever judged at one of their Raiders games they'd would be top 5.They take these shows very seriously and light er up come Show time. You wouldn't believe the crowds response. WWBD
  5. Not my intent at all to COMPLAIN,merley posing a Question. Btw way I have for the most part been a huge fan of the Govies even when I competed against them.
  6. Better yet how did the Govies jump all those points and the Kilties loose points.
  7. The more the merrier.Bring em on. But I have one or two or 3 or 4 ????.Didn't YEA have some corps under their umbrella that they had to turn loose due to financal problems? And what is the cause for Cadets moving all the times it did,and changing the name of the corps? Will the Cadets be able to afford C2? If C2 is to be on it's own will they not be competeing for the same money as the Cadets? These questions may have already been asked and answered but I am to lazy to go back and read.
  8. Boys of 76 Bells of St Mary Munising silver echoes Marty's Goldenaires The Thing
  9. The corps is also preforming in Oregon Wi. tonight!!! The crowd there treats the Kilts like the corps were Gods.
  10. Sorry no, French horns. But still fricking awsome !!
  11. Back in the early 80's,I helped recruit for a new drum corps in Houston. We went to every highschool that would let us in. It help that the staff was mostly area high school music teachers.Any way we had over 350 kids come thru the doors. The Nighthawks lasted 3 or 4 years then folded. It wasn't the lack of kids, that did the corps in.It was the ineptitude of the Corps higher highers. I think corps people have gotten lazy, thinking that they can't get the kids from the local area. How can you get a kid from South Africa, and then tell me that you can't get someone from the high school down the street. I truly believe that a city the size of Milwaukee,(example only)with the surrounding area should be able to recruit from the area. That being said if you are looking for colledge age recruits, to make the big show then indeed you are limiting yourself .

  13. The Northernaires got the above shackos also.I remember having to take the explorer emblem off and switching them for ours.
  14. I remember my old JR.corps Menominee Northernaires 60's uni were almost identical to the Cavis. In 69 we obtained Ike Jackets from Madison.Being all male at the time it was funny. coming on to the field and listening to the people in the stands trying to figure out if we were the scouts or the Cavies. We did have a strong connection to the Cavies in the fact that we had Monk come up as a instuctor along with Denny Hagner writing some of our drum book.
