  1. hyping the t-shirt wearing all summer. last summer at move ins i got some pretty scary sun poisoning which really affected me for a few days. not messing around with that this year.
  2. useless pre-first-show-but-that-doesn't-really-matter-since-corps-are-made-or-broken-in-the-heat-of-july-prediction: Surprise: Santa Clara Disappointment: Carolina Crown, although likely only in my mind since they'll probably come out and blow my face off, per usual As Expected: Bluecoats, although I really don't know what I'm expecting out of them. For serious, though, this season's shaping up to pit some really awesome corps and really awesome shows against each other. It seems like most groups are playing a show that pretty well fits them.
  3. i'm wondering how the new SB Kings will fit into this discussion.
  4. cincinnati. two ns, one t. also, very cool news.
  5. It was for him, at least. Fist pumping to the music of the English countryside? Only in drum corps.
  6. hmm...probably wouldn't change the placements, but boston and spirit come to mind.
  7. My ear's just fine, thank you. I'm talking in practical terms, especially with the reality of the open class hornline (perhaps generalizing too much).
  8. it's like seal training, except with excessive amounts of gatorade instead of minimal. and little swimming. no seriously.
  9. patience padawan learner, june's not that far away. and fwiw, there's clips of the opener floating around an unnamed unsourced website that distinctly violates DCP's media link policy. but you didn't hear it from me.
  10. Still in the top 10, right up there with YEA, DCI and SCV! If you haven't voted, go now! 1 hour 10 mins left.
  11. cool idea. let's hope it's not overly cheesy, though. definitely huge potential, especially with that hornline (and drums and guard, too, of course)
  12. Great idea in theory. That is, if you don't mind the additional intonation headaches, which will only be compounded by the likely reality of this being a relatively young hornline. Not hatin', just saying.
  13. See this: Ed: Additionally, 26s with whiplash drill? Uh, yeah right.
  14. right. ok. see the following shows and get back to me: 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002. not addressing the rest of the implied meaning of the comment.
  15. This is absolutely so true. The G fam has nothing but the utmost respect for all teams out there and I'm sure they'd appreciate a bit of love!
  16. hooray show title that's pretty useless without any of the musical selections!
  17. Keeping it to shows I've seen live Sound: Crown 09 Execution: BD 08 Two well deserved Otts
  18. you're not the only one. i've tried different browsers, different connections. nothing really works to fix it except getting lucky.
  19. SCV wants the mellophones to sound like F horns. Some will disagree with this approach, others thinks it's prescient. It's how it is. They need an experienced horn player for the spot, that's how it is. Having said that, I am aware of more than a few of the mello line members not being primarily horn players. However, considering it is April, I would think that there will be priority given to interested horn players.
  20. You've got 3rd and 4th backwards. Ballet third is the feet being together but the toes being 180° apart. Regiment 3rd is drum corps first with the left heel being placed in the arch of the right. 4th is separated and usually turned out (i.e. Glassmen's first big hit last year) and 5th is the heel of one foot connecting with the toe of the other (can't think of a good example off the top of my head)
