Class is hard to define: SCV, Madison, and The Troopers come immediately to mind. I can tell you what definitely ISN'T classy: coming on to field wearing your championship ring(s) over your gloves!

IMHO, Phantom's uniforms this year are the coolest most bad-### uniforms ever fielded EVER. The award for most hideous ever goes to Crown from last year.

I had my soprano ripped from my fingers and it was sent sailing through the air by the butt of a rifle that was going into a 5 toss. Luckily the horn didn't hit anyone, but it had a nice crease in the bell afterwards. My fingers hurt for days. This was Madison '88.

I can't believe a Mod hasn't freaked out and relegated this topic to the special G7 area which is hard to find, vague, and avoids putting the most important thing going on in drum corps where most people will see it.

Not a single thing, I genuinely and truly believe that it has all been distracting and takes away, rather than adds to, the Drum Corps experience.

10 electronic keyboardists, 140 color guard. Why not? GE would be through the roof. It seems like this would be the judges dream come true. Possible? Is this more, or less stupid than 50 keyboardists? What about 10 members playing drum sets, 3 guitarists, 2 bass guitarists, and 5 people playing electronic keyboards... Does that suck? Aren't we pretty darn close to that already? I guess the question is at what point does the atrocity of allowing keyboards, guitars, vocals, etc... become just TOO absurd?

100% synthesized music, 150 color guard. Why not? Then the music would be perfectly executed, and the GE would be through the roof. It seems like this would be the judges dream come true. (please don't let Hoppy find out about this idea)

Why not just synth the whole show, i.e. NO instruments whatsoever. That way you could field 150 color guard. Talk about GE - the judges would eat that up, right??

Now that G7 is more important than ever, the G7 forums have been removed? I don't understand!

Do drum corps ever practice on pavement anymore? We occasionally marked off a parking lot, but it was hot. I'm asking because I own an old high school building, but there is not enough room to mark off a field. I would offer up the space in the summer, but it might not be useful.

I want to hear timpani loud and clear again!

The day Madison does a Michael Jackson show is the day I burn my jacket and hang myself. I love the old school songs; Numero Uno Malaguena Strawberry Soup Ice Castles Brian's Song I would love to hear any of these on the field again, but I have the upmost trust in Mr. Mason. As long as it isn't some cheesy modern rock (ala the horrifying M.J. suggestion) - I'm completely on board.

Why not? Because the BSA does not allow atheists or homosexuals in their organization. Pretty good reason, eh?
