  1. Colts have Cesario working for them. They will beat Blue Stars tomorrow - and make finals while Blue Stars miss the Finals cut.
  2. I think Phantom has more tricks up their sleeves to get points other than the Phantom Kick. It's a signature move, and that's it. Phantom will give us the real tricks next week, I'm sure. I just wish I could be in Pasadena to see it!
  3. From last year to this: BD and PR will stay in the Top 3 in finals - although neither will get the place they got last year. Cavies will be replaced by Cadets in the Top 3. Bluecoats will place 5th (under Cavies). SCV will reign at 6th and just like last year - Crown, after having a great season which put them close to Top 5 status, will fall, this time to 7th. Colts will place 10th and overcome the Glassmen. They will take Madison's spot - and Madison will finish 16th in semis. Spirit will overcome Bluestars and Academy, thanks to their drumline, to take the final spot in finals.
  4. Agreed. I wouldn't pay attention to their score last night - they weren't competing against any of the other Top 7 corps - so their score was probably a little deflated. Just as a comparison - Spartans in D2 got .1 higher than Phantom got last night at a different show.
  5. Ok - I'll give into the fact - apples and oranges 2 shows............ I won't deny the fact that PR would have had a higher score had they been against Cavies, Cadets, SCV, Carolina, Blue Devils, or Bluecoats..............or had they not gotten rained out yesterday (against Carolina and Cavies) I guess I'm upset Phantom has had 2 shows in 4 days the week before DCI Championships away from the other 6 of the Top 7.
  6. I think 91.00 is too low. I think this would have been higher had the show last night not got rained out - and they would have been competing against other Top 6 corps. I think this is why Carolina had such a high score compared to Phantom tonight.
  7. DCI site shows Phantom at 91.00 not 91.60. Which one is true?
  8. 1. 93.45 Cavies 2. 92.90 Phantom 3. 90.75 Crown 4. 88.00 Boston Crusaders 5. 83.90 Colts 6. 82.40 Spirit 7. 81.25 Blue Stars 8. 79.85 Scouts 9. 78.90 Pacific Crest 10. 77.65 Southwind 10. 73.10 Pioneer
  9. Wow. Phantom should have won EVERY music caption - not just Brass. Phantom not winning percussion? Is anyone else surprised by this? What happened to Jeff Prosperie - didn't see his scores on the recap??? Not surprised Marie Czapinski had Phantom so low - I'm sure her husband, who has them twice this coming week I think - will continue her low score trend. What a shame - Phantom not to have gotten above 90. They did it like 5 or 6 days ago! They actually play a lot while they march (unlike the 2 who beat them). Wow - this week will be telling -and yes - it will be telling to see who judges during finals week. Wow............just wow.
  10. 1. Blue Devils (c'mon - were in Pasadena - who are we kidding!) 2. Cavaliers 3. Phantom 4. Bluecoats 5. Carolina 6. Cadets (It would indeed be an early Christmas if this happened) 7. Santa Clara 8. Blue Knights 9. Boston 10. Colts 11. Academy 12. Spirit
  11. HAHA - now that would be amazing! I would be surprised if Phantom did NOT win the Sanford Percussion award. I think from here on out the percussion trophy is theirs to lose. Rennicks don't mess around - and have some awesome players playing some awesome music. (Not saying other corps aren't awesome, but percussion is all about Phantom this year in Pasadena like it was in Madison).
  12. GE is what makes this not about the corps who has the best brass, colorguard, and percussion playing and marching winning. GE gives judges a subjective viewpoint on whether or not they like it. You could have a GREAT show, perform it much better than another corps, but if GE judges don't like your show, it's usually reflected in the score. This contradicts what Bob said, and he used Carolina for an example. How about Phantom who is averaging the highest score in Overall Performance (Percussion, Guard, Brass) and averaging a 5th place overall score.
  13. I find it ironic that Phantom is averaging First place in overall performance (guard, percussion, brass) yet averaging 5th place overall. Is their visual really that bad? No. Judges just like to put them down there since they are the "classical" corps. We've already seen how the Czapinskis thought Phantom a point lower in visual than the judges did 2 days before that. Let's see how it pans out tonight! Too bad Marie is judging Visual GE tonight - she'll probably have them in 4th.
  14. I posted this before that Bluecoats score was posted. It'll be intersting to see score tonight in Indy!
  15. I will wait and compare Phantom and Cavies in Indy - and not at Cavies home show. Call me crazy - but when I made my earlier prediction - I forgot to take this into account. I think the spread was a tad much - and we will see it be much closer in Indianapolis I bet.
  16. I love the new look for the uniforms. The color splash is brings out is great. I think one of the neatest effects Phantom has in the show is at the very beginning with the snare drummers tapping their drum heads with their fingertips. I have faith that Shaw, Thompson, Sage, Rennicks, and all the staff at Phantom are going to pull out all the stops down the stretch! GO REGIMENT!
  17. I can't say who is going to win tonight. I think either way Phantom and Cavaliers will be separated by a half a point or less. I'm really liking how the Colts are doing this year. It will be AWESOME to see them make finals - I think they are headed for a Top 12 finish.
  18. I think Phantom proved tonight in Nebraska that it's back to a 4 way race for 1st Place. Go REGIMENT! Hoping for Regiment and Cavies to be separated by no more than half a point on Friday! Hoping Regiment has a better show in the dome in Indy than at San Antonio!
  19. I was right! Phantom was less than a point from Cadets. I didn't think the spread from SCV to Phantom would be that much - but GO REGIMENT!!!! YOU ARE AWESOME!
  20. Phantom Regiment! And no - not tied with something Blue! That was too bad that Phantom didn't win it outright in 96 because they should have. They climbed and climbed in the last week that year - they are going to do it again! GO REGIMENT!
  21. I agree. I think the Flower Duet tempo is just too fast, and I'm surprised judges aren't saying the same (or if they are, I'm surprised Phantom keeps doing it). Tonight: Cadets on top Phantom 2nd - less than a point from Cadets SCV 3rd - between 1 and 1.5 points behind PR I do think that Bluecoats have peaked early, and you will se Phantom re-surge to the finish line with more added to the show, and lots more cleaned. For some reason, it seems Phantom has more to add to their show than any other corps still (and more to clean). I do think some of the transitions are not done and I feel like that we haven't seen quite all of the tricks for Phantom this year. This is such a great year for the Top 7. I can't wait to see how it all plays out!
  22. A friend and I will be at the theater in Crystal Lake, IL.
  23. HeHe - someone said Cavaliers have better music than Phantom and Blue Devils. That made me chuckle a lot. I personally think that the theme of the Cadets show is a bit egotistical, like "oh look how much harder we work than any other corps." All corps work hard, and I don't like the statement Cadets are making. I usually enjoy Blue Devils shows, but this one I don't, and I think going along with Cadets, the BD show title is a bit presumptuous. (sp?) It will be interesting to see if the Winged Victory only gets them a silver or bronze medal (or none at all)
