So what do we want the cadets to be?
cavalier1995 replied to Rounder's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Agreed. 25 years is it? Even the best of directors should step away eventually. -

It sure was louder than the entire corps playing. That makes it highlighted... or is that lowlighted? -
Who has the best looking ESPN Poster?
cavalier1995 replied to ouooga's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
SCV, no doubt. I prefer bad ### over 'hey, that looks like some band show' -
I'd love to see that!

Yes, ban amped voice altogether please.

Most Intense Finals Performance
cavalier1995 replied to scv_chuck's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I was either a member on the field or in the stands as a fan 90-95, 97, 99, 01, 02... and Madison 97 has to be THE most crazy crowd I've ever been in on finals night. I was about 9 rows from the sideline and I've never witnessed electricity like that finale before or since. -
1992... This is a truck stop story but I figure that's ok. Pretty similar. You know those big iron/cement posts that are in certain areas so you don't drive through walls or into gas pumps? Yeah... one of those got stuck in between the bus tire and the metal bus frame. Not sure how the driver managed that one. Let's just say the frame got a little mangled trying to get out of that truck stop... Another one, similar to Bob J's... Busses pull over, no rest stop. Just miles of Indiana (or was it Ohio?) corn fields. Yeah... many guys watered that corn... kinda gross... just make sure you wash your veges after you buy them from the store! You never know what corps has visited them. hehe

Phantom 1991 had a thrown instrument... I think it might have been a two valve sop? Since the three valves were coming the following year? It's clearly visible on the dvd and I remember it live.

Yeah, I've always wanted to hear that one. Still, it would be cool for one of the big boys to do it.

Crown and their horses

Nah, no horse fantasies... just an appreciation for beauty. -

Yeah, I'd go for the video download thing. Who wouldn't? -
"YEAN" Too funny!

I'd say all but #2. Sorry Madison, loved that show, but it's not as clean as those others.

Best Champion of the 80's
cavalier1995 replied to dccorpsfan's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I went with 82 BD. Most listenable on cd. -
Does it come in HD with narration by Sir Richard Attenborough? b**bs
-
That's exactly why it would work! Although finding a nice break or slow point might be an issue. B)

It really isn't a big deal. That said, I love lesbians. :-)

QUESTION about Hopkins, Blame
cavalier1995 replied to ContraRich77's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
It didn't ever happen to me either. The other thing I find peculiar... When are the rules voted on? Late Dec? Early Jan? Most corps don't even have their membership set in stone at that time of year. If some directors are really polling their 'members', what they're really polling are people who are auditioning to be in the corps. -
Alright well... they'd at least have to have all the guys participate in a 'longest beard' contest. Good? B)

Champions that could have been
cavalier1995 replied to PercussiveEric's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Not really. The placement after quarters was what really got to us. Finals night we weren't really focused on the win, just glad to be performing for friends/family, and sad that the season was coming to a close. That was a crazy year. -

Just guessing... but I bet the quality of the hornline was the weak spot in 1989 for them. There's nothing underrated about the top SIX scoring at least 95 at finals! It was just a really solid year.
