  1. No, the stands are empty!!!! Just kidding!!! I couldn't resist being a smart-aleck!!
  2. Well, then congratulations to you for this monumental "FIRST" in DCP History!!! And the server didn't crash after you posted it!!!!
  3. Well, welcome back to the better of the two states! I say that only because of the "friendly" rivalry between MN and IA!!! Ditto on those good wishes to the Colts!
  4. AMEN!!! What it all boils down to is that these kids and their staff work their butts off and they deserve the respect of each and every fan at every show, no matter what you think about their director or something that happened in the past.
  5. Having watched quite a few videos posted by various corps on the Fan Network, I have to commend these videographers. Most of the time, they aren't just going out, shooting video and then posting it. They're doing a lot of editing to make the videos more like a short movie, and not "home-movie-like"!!! Kudos to Doug Hall who does all of the Blue Stars stuff. He's been a busy guy!!!
  6. One of the Blue Stars parents will be in Rockford and said he plans to post scores on DCP using his Blackberry. Hopefully that'll work out!!
  7. I really hope you'll have the opportunity to see them in person at some point this season. I think you will change your opinion.
  8. Finals at college stadiums always seem to have more eating and drinking establishments within walking distance so I think finals in Bloomington will be great! Unlike last year at the Rose Bowl, where it cost an arm and a leg for a hot dog and pop!!! (Soda for those of you that don't understand 'pop'!! ) I'm wondering if they will reprice tickets! I'm HOPING they will! $510 for 2 Super Premium tickets to all 3 sessions is a bit much!
  9. Well, thanks to our illustrious President's Economic Stimulus Package, all of us taxpayers will have our checks just in time to spend them on finals tickets! With a LITTLE bit left over for all of the other amenities! And you won't have to get a second job.
  10. Please don't be so quick to condemn certain corps. Many people sent their well wishes via e-mails directly to Greg, which he printed out to give to the families. I happened to be in Dubuque early last week and stopped into the Colts hall to extend my thoughts and prayers and Greg had a huge stack of e-mails.
  11. They'd all do the Bunny Hop????? Maybe you're too young to know what that is - if so, I'm dating myself!
  12. No, people can't have opinions on DCP, without risking being chastised for them by forum members who don't agree with them. If I remember correctly, a few weeks ago a poster whose forum name was bluestarmom, or something like that, got raked over the coals big time by a bunch of people for expressing her opinion. After reading her post and (and understanding the point she was trying to make), then reading some of the responses it generated, I thought people were pretty harsh!!! I wondered at the time if she did not have "mom" in her forum name, would people have been so nasty to her? I guess if we have opinions on DCP topics, we'd better be prepared to defend them to some of the so-called experts who hang out here!!!
  13. AMEN!!!!! May I just say that you have very eloquently put into words what I and others I know have been thinking this past season, particularly your comments about judging.
  14. I think the Blue Stars should go with an all white pant next year - keep the jackets! They were sweet! Someone told me there's talk of new headgear. Bring back the red plume on something other than a pith helmet!!! The Blue Stars uni would have looked awesome if all the corps members were all slender enough to make sure the blue/white split on the jacket matched up to the blue/white split on the pant. But we do come in all shapes and sizes!!! If you look on becorps' website, the picture of Blue Stars leaning, you can see what the drill designer was going for but too many variables left it lacking. That guy's got some talent!!!
  15. Sure glad to hear someone else say this! An earlier post mentioned slotting, when speaking of the Scouts. We've had many discussions in our family about that and other than a few changes here and there, it almost appears that someone decided who they wanted their Top 12 to be and that's who it was. I haven't been around drum corps that long but what I've seen leads me to believe that there's an awful lot of politics that goes into something where politics has no place. Overrated: Cadets (would have liked them much better without the you-know-what), Colts, Academy Underrated: Blue Stars (see above!!), Scouts (made huge strides this season)
