  1. well has anyone GOTTEN the edited DVD? Is it out yet? If I bought it today it would be the un-edited version? Is the DVD still awesome?
  2. if that said composer's work is no longer in the DVD then why would it still apply? I'm confused.
  3. Or I can find out who the composer is and give him a piece of my mind...
  4. the 2008 vol. 1 dvds should now cost AT LEAST 8-10 dollars less. Three reasons why: 1) Phantom Regiment played a show entitled Spartacus (maybe you've heard it?), it was THE BEST show of the year. Every second of that show was pure awesome. We expect a full show, if we get even only 99.98 percent of it we should be compensated. 2) Even if you disagree with #1 the show still won the championship, and if you asked 10 people 8 would probably say that's one of the main reasons they're buying the DVD 3) Phantom Regiment won their first title since 1996, and their first STAND-ALONE title EVER! That is reason alone. I'm not sure if I'm sounding logical right now because I'm extremely ###### and I'll probably get ridiculed for thinking something so outrageous but yea...
  5. actually... http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/statistics/...6&year=2006 I think you're thinking of 1996, which would be correct, honest mistake.
  6. Whoever the visual caption is (I know he's supposed to be a young, new guy at the game) at Phantom is, he's doing a great job for his first time. I have faith he can bring PR to a championship by the end of Saturday night. I don't understand this BD band wagon by the way, Cavies I can understand...they have a fun show, BD? It's chaos. And not the good kind of chaos they intended, I'm saying the crappy kind of chaos where I find myself saying "where's the melody?" *ehm* okay that was harsh, most of that is my dislike of the BD band wagon lately. GO PHANTOM! TAKE IT ALL THE WAY BABY! SPARTACUS = BEST SHOW OF 08, AND ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL TIME!!!!!
  7. Man that would be a terrible thing if that happened, I hope everyone was okay!
  8. Why can't we just get fat heads of logos, seals, icons, etc. Who said it had to be persons? like the phantom chevron, the cavalier guy, the bd symbol, the cadets guy (or a maroon square with holy name in big bold letters)
  9. the one with the PR tenors , I saved it the day it came out on to my computer...the ONLY picture I've saved from DCI . org!!!
  10. This is really weird, I was just about to make a thread about this. The pictures lately could be loads better but they aren't, some have been phenomenal; some were overrated (like the recent one about the pink sky)
  11. Hey man, you should really stop by www.snarescience.com/forums (NOT A SHAMELESS ADVERTISEMENT), register, and introduce yourself, we would be more then happy to help you out. Or post on the percussion planet forums on the main boards here.
  12. LSU hands down is #1 in the country, they played the toughest schedule considering they play in the best division in the nation; the SEC. They've played Bama, Auburn, Florida, and Arkansas( I think ) , and will beat whoever wins the East division. LSU deserves to be #1. I say this in an unbiased view because I am a life long die hard Alabama fan and will forever bleed crimson; but if you took away their TV time, they would most likely rank 25th. TV helps, loads. Just food for thought. Need I remind a lot of you, DCI getting more TV time would bring many great things...but be careful what you wish for, a lot of people will probably say in the future (if this ever happens, which I suspect it will someday) that DCI has been corrupted by the media. Just my two cents.
  13. Yea they sell just the rubber tips, they come in three sizes plus you can put them on any stick. I chose to put them on my IP PR-2's simply because they rock =D Oh and don't say they can't damage anything, well not because it's not true because they can't...but remember, DON'T SHOT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BREAK SOMETHING, YOU STILL HAVE THE REST OF THE STICK AT YOUR POWER SO BE CAREFUL!!
  14. yea sorry, I just listened to them. They do dut, but not very often. Oh well, that blew my perspective, at least I'll admit to being wrong.
  15. Crucial? Phantom Regiment didn't dut, they got 2nd in drums this year, and 1st last year. Again, Crucial?
  16. I said the same pieces, not the same arrangements. You obviously missed the part where they said it would be NOTHING like the 81/82 show. I doubt they will even think of putting the same pieces as the did in the 80's, but even if they do it's going to be great and appropriate. Phantom Regiment is definitely not the only corps to play the same song twice. They play high caliber shows that are always memorable and never feel redundant, that's why they're out there teaching the corps, writing drill, writing and arranging the music, and not you. [edit]
  17. They aren't going to perform a show anything like the 1981/82 one. It shares the same name, possibly the same theme. Phantom is widely known as one of the best corps music wise, they don't do the same piece every year, they usually wait at least 10 years. Who cares? They're way different arrangements and it's good music that doesn't feel redundant.
  18. I honestly thought I was the first one to see this! You guys really beat me to the punch! hahaha
  19. Think of it this way. Would Led Zeppelin make it big if they started out playing in 2006/07/08 instead of 1968/69/70? I don't think so, I think they would all still individually excel if they were to individually perform for other types of music, but the music they made together was a trend for back then and is held as classic rock today (as a separate genre). Stairway to Heaven wouldn't make it to the radio stations, and that was one of their most popular songs ever. It's just how music evolves. Sort of like DCI. [edit] I know that wasn't the point of the question, but someone else brought this point up so I put my two cents in.
  20. What's even more exciting is their ultra expensive and unrealistic home set up (compared to the average american) that matches the phantom uniforms B)
  21. Musically: Phantom 03' Phantom 96' Cavies 95' Star 93' Phantom 89' SCV 98' Visually: Star 91' Cavies 06' Cavies 03' Cadets 00' Out of 07: Phantom Regiment - Music and a tie between Cadets/Crown - Visually
  22. Who in the world did UNA lose to? If you were going to Northern Illinois, I wouldn't mind meeting up with you and splitting gas money as I hail from bama as well, but since you aren't...
  23. 2003 was a great year for drum corps, it was overall an awesome year for everyone. BD had a great show, Cavies, Phantom, Cadets, Vanguard, Crossmen, Scouts, they all had great seasons that year! This particular show was great, i love the second half of the show the most!
  24. I once thought IP's PR-1 was the best, until the PR-2 came out. It gives this perfect sound that the Hardimons don't. SC's sticks are OK. I think the worst stick i've ever messed around with is Thom Hannums, It has a horrible feel in my hand, I can't stand the bead!
