Show of the Season Award - DCPI XIII
s3si1u replied to StarOrg's topic in DCP Fantasy Drum Corps League
Penguin Brigade's show this season is titled The Rose Orgy (thanks to DCP's own Hostrauser for the program design and program notes) THE ROSE ORGY -- Pines of the Villa Borghese from "Pines of Rome" (Ottorino Respighi) -- Bacchanale (Jacques Ibert) -- Ayshe's Dance from "Gayaneh" (Aram Khachaturian) -- Bacchanalia Variations from "Spartacus" (Aram Khachaturian) -- Orgiastic Dance from "Belkis, Queen of Sheba" (Ottorino Respighi) Premise: details the excessive "Rose Orgy" of the Roman emperor Heliogabalus. The apocryphal tale says that the emperor tried to smother orgy guests with thousands of flower petals that fell from the ceiling until they built up like snow drifts. In reality there was probably no malice behind it, but it serves as a fine example of the excesses to which he allowed himself. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Harlequin Alliance: As for the Harlequin Alliance, they will once again be competing in Class A. Our presentation this season will bring back memories from everyone's childhood! This year's program will follow the classic Mickey Mouse cartoon: "The Band Concert" The musical program will consist of the classic, William Tell Overture by Rossini and the Folk Song "Turkey in the Straw" We aim to entertain the crowd and have no doubt that our goal will be achieved with this wonderfully choreographed show. -

AWWW =[ after weeks of being up there with the top dogs of the pack...both Harlequin Alliance in Class A and Penguin Brigade in World are left in 13th place!!! AAAAHH!!!! oh well...we had a great run! better than ever for us, and we gave many corps a run for their money, so it's time to start brainstorming for next season! Which WSS did you like better?
s3si1u replied to bccadet09's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
this list is not complete...WSS has been played at least 16 more times! but that said, my favorite would still have to be BD 98 -
Maybe not finals this year...a few buddies and me are trying to save up, but it might not be possible. I most likely will be at Stanford and the AmericaFest at the Rose Bowl though

I probably sound kind of stupid saying this...but...is it bad to drive your own car down there? (i'm not a very experienced driver as you can tell...and it wouldn't be my car anyway ) but a couple friends and me were thinking of making a roadtrip out to indy, from southern california. Either that or Greyhound -
I wish the general public was allowed inside =\

This year's sweepstakes show in Costa Mesa, California will be hosted by the Rctic Circle Org. This battle at the beach will be hosted in the magnificent, state-of-the-art LeBard stadium at Orange Coast College. This venue is only minutes from California's best beaches, so don't hesitate to bring your corps over for a bit of fun after the show! We will also be hosting a nice bonfire at the beach for the participating corps after the show, for those of you that are interested. Please PM or reply to this post to reserve your housing and practice site if you are attending.
