  1. It would be easy to switch from a trumpet to a mellophone. Trumpet to baritone, not so much. World Class trumpet is highly competitive. You need to have solid flexibility, good tone, and good grasp on range.
  2. Except when you realize how many shows you've gone through and you're not even half way to the destination.
  3. The little corps that could came and wiped the floor with everyone.
  4. I'm keeping it off relatively well. I tried to keep it off by not going out for the first few days since I've been back. If I had gone out, I surely would have indulged myself. Personally, as an odd routine, I sometimes walk around with my muscle engaged as if I were to be marching without actually marching. As of recently, I have been eating more which is probably going to make me gain weight. As far as I can tell, I have not gained any weight since tour.
  5. Did you ever see any corps live? Don't contradict yourself.
  6. I remember seeing that. Just so happened to catch the show. It was an amazing recovery, especially by the end snare who got to the hold set at the last count.
  7. There is a science to CI, however. CI is based upon observations and the theory of CI is made upon these observations. CI is proven time and time again. As per an earlier response to Phantom winning while they were 4th in 07 and won in 08, it is because they not only medaled in the past, but they have won before. Hence, they can win. Crown has not won or even medaled. This is because of the judges reluctancy to allow a corps who hasn't "proven" themselves to be put amongst those who have. It's human nature. May I ask, have you read the CI thread?

  9. The outcome is the same thing. However, it's more like are you happy that Phantom won or are you happy because BD lost.
  10. I think I can say this for all the World Class corps out there. No, they won't allow it.
  11. Maybe is he was brass caption head, but he only seems to be the arranger. Here's to the Cavaliers playing melodies again.
  12. Seems like you guys have your stuff together. Can't wait until DCI approves.
  13. I know someone who drove from Florida to Ohio for Bluecoats camps.
  14. I'd have to go with Bluecoats shout chorus. Chills every time.
  15. Something deep within my gut wants me to say this has to do with the introduction of electronics. Can of worms, be free!
  16. That does not make me a happy camper.
  17. I know that many corps have that system or some form of it to let people off easy. Within the rating of 3, though, it says the chances of making the line are not likely. In essence, you are not going to make the line without a lot more improvement. Cut sounds harsh, but I think most agree cut means you did not make the line.
