  1. Wisconsin's largest newspaper... https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/2018/08/22/pioneer-drum-corps-suspended-poor-cadet-health-care-and-having-sex-offender-staff/1068296002/
  2. Based on some of the rumors I've heard (rumors? maybe "worst-kept secrets in DCI" would better describe it), we are just getting started. Too many people in DCI just kept jamming those skeletons into the closet for years and years and years instead of dealing with the issues, and now the closet door has broken and the skeletons a-come tumbling out and I don't think they are going to be stopping for a while now.
  3. General Mitchell already has onsite car rental and more parking than you can shake a stick at, on the CORRECT side of the airport (the airport entrance is to the west). It's such a bad spot it's a ten minute drive to the airport drop-offs zone despite being literally right next to the airport.
  4. It's a football field wedged between some railroad tracks and a bunch of industrial warehouses. The development potential of the site is zero. https://goo.gl/maps/Enqw1wf7f832
  5. Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but pretty sure that address is Roman's home address. That's a residential neighborhood, it's definitely not a commercial building.
  6. Adam Hill started Pioneer Indoor while he was Percussion CH for Pioneer drum corps, but they are a separate entity run out of a separate location (Romeoville, IL). They should be safe, I don't think Roman ever had more involvement than giving his blessing to the use of the name/shamrock logo.
  7. Some of those SoundSport groups have folded or otherwise stopped performing. Arsenal (NM) and Appalachian Gold (WV) have stuck around for a couple of years and look to be pretty committed to making the leap to Open Class once DCI gives them the okay.
  8. Too close to their Animal Farm show from just a couple years ago. I think Bruckner's Fourth would be a fantastic base for a medieval sword & sorcery/dragon-slaying type of show. It almost sounds like the sort of show Phantom would have tried five or ten or twenty years ago before their design staff lost their dang minds.
  9. Proposed by: Hostrauser Details: Adding Open Class DCI corps to be available caption selections for DCPI players Prerequisite #1: Would only be implemented if Proposal #1 passes and the ordinals/point values were reset to a scale of 40 instead of a scale of 25. Prerequisite #2: Would only include Open Class corps that attended Championships every season on a rolling four-year basis, no regional corps.
  10. Help me choose where next season will end!
  11. I said it before and I'll keep saying it: there will be NO improvements to Pioneer in any way, shape, or form as long as Roman Blenski is around.
  12. My Top 6 Most Enjoyed Shows of 2018 Santa Clara Vanguard Carolina Crown Mandarins The Cadets Crossmen Oregon Crusaders
  13. I only have the ability to edit a couple of things on the front page. Any programming changes would have to involve John Donovan. I agree that improved navigation would help, but I am not sure how much effort that would take or if the ROI would be worth it. We are, after all, a charity case in the DCP pantheon.
  14. You didn't honestly think George Hopkins was the ONLY one in all of DCI to pull that crap, did you? Batten down the hatches.
  15. Nice proposal. I'm interested in hearing other players' thoughts. Changing the point scale is one of the few changes that would be exceptionally easy to implement on the back-end.
  16. All I will say is this: things with Pioneer will not improve in any category (finances, recruitment, or on-field product) until Roman Blenski (in particular) and the Blenski Family (in general) are no longer involved with the organization in any way.
  17. Seattle Cascades in 2002. Since then, Spirit and Troopers both made Finals after long absences, but Cascades and Academy were the last two new Finalists. Interestingly, both Cascades and Academy (so far) were "one and done" in Finals. Can Mandarins break the streak? Before Cascades I believe the prior first-time Finalist was Boston Crusaders in 1999, and they haven't dropped out since.
  18. Two polls have been added to the Rules Congress sub-forum for potential championship sites for next season.
  19. Congratulations to our Season 28 Champions!
  20. Congratulations to our 36 Finalist corps! Semifinal scores are posted, caption changes are open for the last time this year!
