This got me thinking....The chatty "teens" were in force at the quarter finals theater in White Plains NY...Along with the infamous late arrivals...lol...Did I say anything? No...I was actually finding it a little annoying myself, but then thought to myself "<G>This is not the Opera after all"...lol

While I would have been more classy myself personally...I just don't understand why people have to get their underwear in a bunch when they see or hear something like "booing". It's almost a laughable issue in the sense of being just dissatisfied versus and any real violent behavior. It's not like fists were swinging and violence ensued which HAS HAPPENED before at various major sporting events. I guess it's your right to be upset, but do you honestly think that the drum corps world is any "different" than the rest? We are in different times IMO and the act of "booing" is just a reflection of that. Relax!

It really is too bad that you were not on their design team. Your ideas are very imaginative, fun, and creative IMO. If I was a corps director you'd be on my staff :)

I guess my question is does the G7 really need board approval to move forward? The world series scam as you've called it...gives me the impression that while they welcome cooperation they are not required to get it...and are actively taking the necessary steps to march forward(pardon the pun). Maybe I need to re-read that document again.

In the risk of this already covered elsewhere. Brasso, do you have a time-line about the "world series of drum corps" document? And is that just pretty much dead as well?

I've never understood the follow the leader mentality. If you are going to follow the leader than you are always going to be just that "2nd BEST". LEAD by your own example and stop trying to be a COPYCAT.

I'm a sucker for Farandole....Absolutely loved it!!!! One of my favorites for sure! I loved that piece of music since about 1987 when I first heard and played it. Even though you guys were my arch enemy when I marched (bias)...lol..I absolutely LOVED your show this year. I really think you guys along with BAC and Madison were ALL underscored this season. Though this is true, being a HIGH scoring 11th place show just shows the incredible work by the staff and the great talent and WONDERFUL products that are being put out. I don't ever remember the field being this tight competitively. Yes..other years I liked more shows over the last 25, but not from a competitive standpoint. I'm also proud of their work! Don't change a thing!!! Except maybe winning a championship :)

One of the biggest reasons I marched and STAYED and aged out with BAC was for that very reason. They truly actually cared about the audience and making that connection. You are right...it didn't always come through..BUT it was always the goal. Thank you for that! I applaud the current and past staff and especially the staff at the time when I marched in 90 and 91. Craiga...I still remember those Bermuda shorts you liked...LOL I also applaud the corps for keeping their tradition alive even though it has not always resulted in being with the judges taste. That is just horrible. I really feel so bad for him/her. Reminds me of what happened at semi's in 91 when a contra stepped on my foot in the opening spiral move and went down :(

I'm just ignoring the scores at this point. My discerning eyes/ears says they are definitely Box 5. I have no doubt about that whatsoever. I also think this years show is one of the most underrated shows out there IMO. Good luck tonight BAC! 12 time 12 time 12 time Finalist!

I'm sorry to say but IMO it is a sign of the times that we live in. Why change the already set precedent? I've been coming to this forum for years well before my DCP profile. The hate is way more vocal now here. BUT...I find it a little comical that you actually reference RAMD. Why would you think sentiments have changed all that much from that time? Have we really evolved past that? I really don't think so. I only started to post in 2008/09 (a few times) and this season probably posted a record amount personally. I've sat on the sidelines reading many times stuff that got under my skin and just kept to myself. I think the difference now is people are willing to just vocalize more than previously and doing it publicly. Many discussions here are very polarizing. It has taken me a very long time to set aside my personal prejudices over the last 25 years and to not get irritated at other peoples arguments. I'm probably wrong more times than right. I say if whoever wants to hate than so be it. I respect BRUTAL honesty. After all, I can always ignore it.

He has no clue period when it comes to marketing. That's why YEA paid over 100k a year for a marketing company IMO. He couldn't get it right himself.

Yep! All these glorious changes over the years have done absolutely nothing to grow this activity! All they have done is ALIENATE the fan base to the nth degree and this is the BOILING point. I also think all those old farts are just bored and want to create all this havoc to have something NEW to to get excited about just for the sake of change itself. It is time for all the old farts to RETIRE to their rest homes in Florida!

I'm going on record in not being happy with Madison/BAC spread. Even though I actually ENJOY Madison's show better this year by a long shot I'm not too sure if they should be only within tenths of BAC. Of course I was not on the field..so what the heck do I know...
