  2. I believe that everyone should have an EDUCATED opinion on a subject and entitled to it but to harass really is not acceptable ( JMO ) I just hope that if people choose to do this that a physical confrontation does not take place and over shadow the spirit of an event ( THIS COULD HAPPEN ) I think most people will just grin and laugh at the people who chose harrassment as a means to let their view heard.
  3. Great visual shows that push the envelope Uniform changes Unique guards "SOME" old music with a NEW spin on it cool souvie tee shirts
  4. I don't want to see ANY corps not be able to function or be blown away because they can't keep up, with that said these corps spend over a million to operate it has to be treated as a business. All the fluff is good but there is a bottom line in business. I am not saying crush the others in the process though.
  5. This person may not know you but does seem to know Drum Corps..WOW..I think everyone is entitled to an opinion here , aren't they? Even if it differs from our own. Im sure there are some very young people on here with 1/2 the experience as most but that doesnt make what they say less important or have value to it.
  6. That show , traffic , parking..is a logistical nightmare
  7. Hey , it's only Drum Corps and you are right. It is the passion. good or not it keeps it alive i think
  8. I kind of find it interesting that before all the G7 stuff there were so many people who felt DCI for many years was the evil empire and now it's Utopia of virtue. There was even a thread on how drum corps died in 1971. Not challenging anyone here by no means , I just fouind it iteresting.
  9. OK my stab at this mess. In my simple pea brain here we go...lol.. I think there is alot of passion here which is what this activity was founded on but I also think that ( especially here on DCP ) one side is trying to preserve and the other total change. IMO...neither will work. I think somewhere in the middle will be that answer , and who knows maybe that was the intent from the beginning ( Business tactic ) who knows ! Something new is needed I think to move on to the next decade but total change to the roots of the activity is not necessary. How this happens, I don't know but to me it seems both sides of this argument are at extremes . Both sides MUST be willing to see through the fog and come up with a viable solution that will benefit the activity as a whole which includes from top to bottom. I think for the past it's delusional to think that the top big dogs weren't running the show...always have , always will but to restructure to this degree all at once my not be in the best interest of many. I think format changes, additions of things, better tours, Corps making more of their own decisions. NOT DCI calling the shots for everyone can be a good thing but people go into shock when they have been blind sided for sure. This is just my thoughts and only mine I'm sure. Thought I would add my 1/2 cent..lol I think theres an old saying( 3 sides to an argument )" Your side, My Side , and then theres the RIGHT side "
  10. I would have to agree also. For me, stand up for what you believe all the way or sit down Will be an interesting summer for sure. HMMMM maybe that was the plan all the time. HEHEHEHE
  11. I may be sorry I asked this but did any of thes people say where shows would be ( REGION ) and how often? Maybe I missed it...and the cost to see a show?....I may be sorry I asked..lol
  12. Yes I think so..I could be wrong But I know on the YEA web site I did see a financial report somewhere.
  13. I totally agree with you and Im not saying that " WE " should not be catered to. BUT we have to realise times they are changing and some of us will run with it some may get run over. Am I making any sense.....?...lol
  14. Whats the answer to move this activity into the future. It seems noone like the direction of much, sooooo whats the answer>?
  15. You think DCI or Drum Corps has ever been like the NBA, NHL or MLB ive been around along time and have very deep roots in this activity and NO we are a spec compared to what you mentioned. To the average person we are just glorified band geeks.....like that or not its true. But I am proud of it hehehehe
  16. Unfortunately " WE " and I do include myself ( although still teaching ) should be respected as the people who supported this activity for many decades "WE" are not the future, hard as that is to admit. The Die Hard fan of our years is fading away some by choice some forced out by changes or for whatever reason.I think this is just life . I have seen this happen in other things also. Respect, we all deserve, change, I think it needs to happen. For me I will enjoy this activity however it evolves and support Drum Corps , whatever Drum Corps means in the future.
  17. OK....Maybe someone can explain.. Maybe I just didn't get it. I just read the post and rule changes. Seems like rules for floors arent different other than line.( World Class ) So with another thread would SCV or what Pride did legal or not? Maybe Im not getting it...lol....someone help...lol i have to re read the rest....hehehe
