  1. IU memorial stadium? ever perform there when it was empty?
  2. i had a 14yr march in a finalist corps with me. they turned 15 on the day of the houston show. they had a great time marching and everyone accepted them and i never really saw them being isolated.
  3. i dont remember many actual performances in the stadiums, i'll give it a go tho... Allentown- awesome being on the field looking up and seeing what seems like endless rows of people. LaCrosse- the scenery was pretty awesome backfield stadiums i didn't really like performing in Mile High- 2 days to get acclimated is rough and i thought there was a lot of echo for an open stadium. it was pretty awesome performing there tho anywhere there was a great distance to walk. 2010 san antonio, not the alamodome but some high school, was probably one of the worst venues i've ever performed in but thats another thread...
  4. yup, that's the one. i thought i saw a picture of it recently on here. probably when i first read the thread a while ago. i think in 2010 one of the tires on a pioneer bus exploded in the parking lot due to something over heating
  5. one of the stadiums that stands out to me was out east, Ohio or NY maybe, (it might not have been very far east at all) had a over hang above the stands. i remember getting to the gate looking in and thinking about how loud it will be when we perform. I remember performing in mile high thinking that the grass was incredible and also for being an outdoor stadium, there was a significant amount of echo. also the old meadowlands stadium missing a decent chunk of seats from the upper deck back sidelines because it was in the process of getting ready to be torn down because the new one was built and ready for football season.
  6. i have a feeling if you make the corps and suggest the idea, they might look into it, just with a vet who has several years in the organization and one that they produce. phantom has done something similar with a member who has a diary they post on their site almost daily. what's the cavaliers policy on electronics now? still no cell phones?
  7. if you do find yourself getting homesick or feeling down dont bottle it up, talk to someone. i dont remember my 2nd summer ever missing home, there either wasnt time to miss it or when one routine was starting to get old (a lot of rehearsal days or show days back to back) it would change up. bring a phone, bring a few pictures, but again do make sure you have someone to talk to. the corps/tour directors are always there to look out for the members.
  8. i'm a cashier at a store and there was a kid wearing a carolina crown t-shirt, caught me by surprise
  9. Madison Scouts "The Madison Scouts are pleased to announce that Adam Sage will be leading the color guard caption for 2012 and will be joined by Adam Dalton. Returning for his third season is Jim Moore on design & choreography!"
  10. save the money. tell them you'll pay for it yourself. that should prove to them you're serious
  11. it could equal more customers at the souvie stands, maybe
  12. John Lee was the first "rookie" drum major in 72 years for the scouts, he was a drum major for bd in 2009 and probably will be the only one for quite some time
  13. check their schedule, san antonio was the last show for them after about a week straight of shows. some of those shows having a lengthy bus ride afterwards along with some sort of stomach virus which is making its way throughout the corps. they have a right to sound tired.
  14. he got his masters in Oregon, i believe, so does it really count that he got his undergrad at kU?
  15. time for a week in that wonderful place called louisiana. hopefully its a little more kind to them this year while they are there. i can only see them coming out of this next week surging. time for some cuts, rewrites, additions, anything and everything goes. remember how they looked in SA because it'll never look like that again. also, they had a .2 pt penalty in SA so they are in reality that much closer to bac and thats still getting over sickness throughout members of the corps. imagine them being healthy rested and ready to throw down every night from here til finals, it will be incredible there also may or may not be video of them online from the TBA event they did today
  16. i had 1 charger and a strip. on buses we watched movies and slept. at night i would charge my iphone 3g keep it in the most efficient settings (lowest brightness all the time, no wifi, no push notifications) i could sometimes go 2-3 days without it going below half charge and that was with the occasional trip to dcp and using it as an mp3 player. the only time outlets were ever an issue was in the finals housing site in 09. somehow half the gym's outlets went out and it was most likely from multiple blowdryers being used and it blew the circuit breaker, not cell phones/gameboys. usually there were plenty of outlets available wherever we were. sometimes you see a lot of strips coming from one strip because some members have taped their charger to their strip so there might be multiple strips with just 1 item on the strip.
  17. how do you go from tied in music prf with cavaliers one night to more than half a point behind the next night? #lolwut
  18. if those are accurate i bet recaps show scouts percussion dropped a bit, read something on facebook almost half the snare line was sick and some in the pit too
  19. haha yea i'm aware of all of that. just the viewers of this thread has gone up so high soooo fast expecting scores to be here first
