Pretty much. I think John Legend is very talented but that role screams for a much more powerful voice. Think of the originals. Ian Gillan, Ted Neely- both of those guys can absolutely belt it out.

I'm friends with Chris Komnic on Facebook and another of his friends made a post referring to the music and mentioning the scouts. After a re-read I think I misunderstood. So probably won't have 150 prancing cats on the field this year.

Anyone else reading hints of the Scouts playing music from Cats? Sounds fun as long as they don't make everyone wear a spandex cat costume.

I saw an ad for this event on nextdoor.com and ignored it thinking it was just an ROTC thing. I wish I had looked into it because I would have loved to have seen the performance. That stadium is 10 minutes from my house.

At this point why stick to the all male concept? Drum Corps has already changed so much it's barely recognizable as such. There are lots of talented female musicians out there and I'm sure many would like to be a part of the group of women who break that barrier at Madison.

Well the smallest bass drum most definitely has the Pearl logo on the head. I don't know why on earth they would use those pancake snares though.

Did anyone else notice that they were carrying Pearl drums instead of Yamaha? I wonder why the downgrade? Maybe they borrowed the drums from a local school?

Hey they still get my $$ every year because of the experience they provide to the marching members. Having said that - If I don't like what I see I voice my opinion.

So - any chance the Scouts will look like the Scouts in 2018 or will they stick with dumb costumes?
