  1. Yup, best way to find a mouthpiece for you is to go to a local music shop, and try out whatever they have in stock. That's how I found most of the mouthpieces I use now.
  2. If your horn is tarnished, go read the thread on shiny horns.
  3. The Shilke 51D is a pretty decent mouthpiece.
  4. The Hammond 20BL is a great mouthpiece. I personally love the system blue euph mouthpiece, but it does require (as does every new mouthpiece for a lot of players) some getting used to.
  5. I like it. Now into Act 2, as a new(er) member to the corps, the story of how the corps started up and the Behind the Scenes of the corps is awesome. **On an unrelated note, I think the corps should play Spanish Dreams for 2013
  6. BDB, SCVC, Mandarins and Renegades have booths set up at a bunch of Northern California shows.
  7. You know Stanford stadium has lights :), but hornet stadium doesn't know how to turn their's on.
  8. Yup, http://www.dci.org/news/view.cfm?news_id=8d48be3e-3996-4861-a0d7-aabcd1e6e986 Good Luck to the Staff/Members of the Oregon Crusaders, Can't wait to see what's in store for 2013
  9. Al is awesome, spent a few minutes talking to him at the Edge of Empire birthday bash.
  10. Bumping this thread back up after I saw a post in one of the other sections of the forums.
  11. I am a firm believer that 1988 SCV was better than 1989. Still love both years though.
  12. Ave Maria is our corps song. It's been played as part of the show in 2003, 2005, 2008 and in the beginning as our preshow warmup in 2011. edit: added 2008, thanks Tiffany for the info!
  13. Fingering Chart for 2 Valve G Contra please note that the bass clef is written in CONCERT PITCH.
  14. Bay Area, CA. Specifically Santa Clara,CA after the new 49ers stadium is built. We are located in the dead center of the Silicon Valley, the Convention Center is on the other side of the stadium along with several hotels. The stadium is located right next to a Theme Park, so you can bring the kids. And I would only have to drive 5min to get to the stadium :)
  15. It was a fun show to perform, and the crowd's reaction was worth every minute of the season.
  16. SCV and Blue Devils both have bingo halls.
  17. A lot of HS/College Band Directors are Pro-Drum Corps, if you give them notice about missing class, it shouldn't be a problem. That's what I did last year. Edit: Also for high school, you need to give your teachers and the school notice of the days you'd be missing.
  18. As do I, They didn't have enough age outs to make a circle (in the hornline) to do their tuning sequence for the rest of the hornline, so they had a few staff members jump in a play along with an Alumni of the corps.
