  1. I'm sorry. I promise I'm not trying to make fun, but this just tickled me so much! I laughed loud enough to scare my kitties. Thank you for that!
  2. My son is OVER THE MOON! Nice job to all the corps! I'm just so happy that there are kids out there willing to put in all the hard work to put on such an awesome show for us, because I sure love watching it! Thanks again to Fan Network for the live broadcast and an amazing quality stream!
  3. I want to send a serious THANK YOU to Fan Network for allowing me to watch my son tonight LIVE. And for the poster who asked in another thread why do people clap at the movie theater, the better question is why did I just scream my heart out at a laptop screen?! MADISOOOOOOOOON!
  4. Fan Network FTW! This is the BEST NEWS! So excited to check this out LIVE!
  5. Thanks for the heads up. I could be doing so many other things, but I'd much rather REFRESH every few minutes for a play by play
  6. I squee like a little girl every time I see a new video or a great picture. It makes me feel young again!
  7. some nice visual from BAC. Not sure I'm a fan of all of the musical selections though.
  8. Thanks. I was just about to look this up.
  9. Also, I love that whoever is operating the camera is zooming in when it's called for! Much improved FN! I'm impressed.
  10. are those taiko drums the Mandarins are playing? I love it, whatever they are.
  11. deleted..........................................................................................................................................................................................................
  12. That must be a Madison Mom! I love how excited she was.
  13. Looks like a silver sparkle finish from some of the facebook photos they posted last night.
  14. friday's field pass The Madison recording is the last minute of the show.
  15. I just listened to the Scouts preview on Field Pass. We were spoiled with ONE FULL MINUTE!
  16. I heard the drums are already in. Like everything else this season, they are tight lipped on the finish.
  17. Am I just missing it or is DCI not planning to VOD Open Class Finals this year? I could have sworn I watched 2011 on FanNetwork, though I've also seen "bootleg" versions on YT and FB.
  18. There's a 15 year old Madison Scout on the hornline. Apparently he's never even seen a drum corps show live. He's one of the young men being featured in the Scouts Honor documentary.
  19. DCI has been using an internet survey to ask about live streaming and DVD/BluRay packages. Most recently I was questioned about how much I would be willing to pay to live stream events (including finals) and if I would pay more for multi-cam. They are obviously considering it!
  20. What section are you in? Last year we were section 140 Row 4 seat 20-21. We were in the middle section, 4 rows from the field and 20-21 were slightly to the left of the 50. Blow-my-face-off-close! The seats in the closest rows to the field are more comfortable than most. We liked that we had a bit more space and cushion so we asked for the same row. This time we got the other end though, because corps and photo staff were in the first 10 or so rows of section 141 and used the field stairs and moved up and down between each show. It was a bit distracting.
  21. Having seen the New Jersey corps you spoke of perform at Open Class finals last year, I can tell you they were not tortured souls. They appeared to be having fun, and were certainly performing for a large audience. I would guess that if they were ashamed to be performing they wouldn't be there putting in the hours. No, they weren't on par with Blue Devils B, but does that make their experience any less worthy? Should Pioneer close up shop because on Open Class Corps beat them in Prelims? I feel that any corps that has the funds and is willing to put in the work deserves to be there, whether black or white. You mention the show- style marching of HBCU's, and imply that black people should stick to that. I assert that every person should march they style they feel comfortable with. Black folks are certainly under-represented in DCI, as white folks are lacking in HBCU's but I don't think that either ethnicity should "stick to what they know." Do what you love. Go where you like. Field a corps if you can. I'm not sure why I felt so strongly about your post, but I found it closed-minded and felt a need to reply, when I tend to be a more of a lurker. However, it's possible you posted this simply to stir up trouble. If that's the case
