No. Anything an individual buys in the us can come back more time spent the more you can spend. An american group bringing merchandise for sale would have a host of recieving and customs clearence and bonding issues. They would treat it like any transportation exporting valueable merchandise for resale to canada i remember in 02 Patriots had to leave thier souvie trailer at the border.

never once detered a canadian group.. who have the majority of thier shows in the states weve need passports since like 92. Its not that hard and frankly thats just an excuse its just something u get done in november no problemo.. mind ypu i canada it only takes a week to get your passport three days if you pay through the roof.

Its unfortunate that law restricts this.. as a Canadian who only really goes to allentown or indy, it'd be nice to by souvies at a local show, let alone the support it gives the organization.

Sorry have to say it but crowns first year open was 94 and they made semis.... 95 was thier first year infinals with stormworks. Your post was fantastic..... so many corps have gone and its finally time someone gives them credit for thier heart and sticking around..... loved thier 96 show but les etoiles and iron will were the come from behind kids etoiles were beat by demension all year and to see them first was awesome.. kinda amazing they are still around

Any one else out there that is loving soa think nextyear they should keep with the jazz (its thier history i know but identity is so important these days) but go back to film noir and do taxi driver by bernard herrmann? I know they will be compared to devs 2000, but if they really follow the score and make a show out of it i personally think it would be a great vehicle to bring this talented corps to a the 6-8 level.... again just my thoughts but man this corps is getting hot and i hope im not being trite , but this could be a great vehicle considering thier past and future.... Then again dick tracy by elfman is another great idea haha ohh if i could hear that as a whole show by a good corps ( marched in Emerald Knights ONT in 95 and we took an adventurous stab at it haha) cause i love the scoring and the ballad tess did very well by devils 97.... again just some random thoughts for a great corps :)

I remember both my mother and father telling me thay the rivalry between De La Salle and Optimists to be pretty out of hand, like if you gpt on the subway you'd take off your corps jacket for fear of starting something, i think some kept them on to do just that.... also they rehearsed different nights so often opposing corps members would go watch and jeer or try to overhear. I think to a lesser extent there were rivalries with Cardinals of precious blood by they werre pretty new to open and not competitively close to del or optimists. A couple years later it was between Oakland Crusaders and Seneca Optimist... untill both of thier ultimate demise.....
