  2. There are absolutely no Mic'd solos in the Crown Show.
  3. Maybe the Spartans can use Carolina Crowns PAC for camps too? That seems like a better use then using the 1MM to pay for their peanut butter.
  4. Lets not forget, Madison went from 14th in 2002 to 8th in 2003.....(and were actually 6th place most of the season until finals week)

  6. Thats great that you found a place to march. However, as a staff member, I've heard every excuse that you gave, which were numerous, and 9 times out 10, that person ends up quitting during everydays. Once a quitter, always a quitter. You have already given in to every reason not to march.... what is going to happen when your body starts to ache? When you are sunburned? When you can't go on anymore? When you see the Cavaliers? When your Corps isn't winning shows? Will you give in to those reasons not to march anymore? Make sure you do a lot of soul searching and make sure that you really really have the heart to do it. Don't do it for yourself either - do it for the corps that just gave you a spot, do it for the members who are marching next to you, do it for the members that were previously cut who would do anything for the spot that was given to you.... make sure you don't let yourself, or anyone else down. Good luck.
  7. when the staff tells you that you have the hardest show, and you are the hardest working corps, and no one rehearses as much as you do, no one plays as many notes.... all of that is bull
  8. actually... the announcer in Mankato this year did say Feeenis (rhymes with a male body part)...
  9. do a search for "Bands of america" and "drum corps" and you will see a different result. http://www.google.com/trends?q=%22bands+of...=all&sort=0
  10. I went to the University of Wisconsin River Falls and Michael Torke was a commissioned composer of ours (http://www.uwrf.edu//music/composers.html). Last fall I wrote him wondering if he had any new Wind Ensemble music. He sent me a MIDI Recording of The Kiss as it had not been recorded at the time ( Must have been January or February of last year) I believe it was going to be debuted at a state music conference (TMEA??) I can't remember at this time. It is mostly at the back 1/4 of the BD show. Hope that helps some. Check out his website www.michaeltorke.com he has a TON of cool stuff.
  11. Oh yea thats right.... Regiment won Vis GE in 2006.... huh... Must be because their drill isnt effective?
  12. Uninvited was also played in Blast's "Shockwave" show and their current show in Japan - BLAST II
  13. Im a vis tech at Phantom Regiment and I saw Adam Sage at BOA this weekend. He wanted to get this announcement out and I told him I would be happy to post it for him! The Phantom Regiment will be holding open colorguard auditions for the 2007 season. Historically Phantom has marched an all female colorguard, but this year we will be opening spots for males as well. To clear up any confusion, the male members in the 2005 and 2006 shows played specific roles where in 2007, the male spots will be the same as the females. Again, this is an open audition! Please visit www.regiment.org for audition information! Ben Firkus Madison 01-04 Crown Vis Tech 05 Regiment Vis Tech 06, 07

  15. Music from South Park the Movie could be but wont be althogh I would like to hear brandt say "presenting their 2006 show: Uncle ####er" <EDITED FOR FILTER CIRCUMVENTION--LM>
  16. How do you create that high loud screeching sound effect heard in 2000 BD and Cavies 06?
  17. I was told the madison 97 penalty was for the DM camera, having a flash and being battery operated. When the DM in 04 did the Cell phone gag at Murfreesboro he had the chief judge approve his phone - he had removed the battery
  18. I was a DM in 2004 with madison and when I got home from Tour my ears rang for a good 2 weeks.
  19. So I was sitting in my Psych class today and we went through this list and I realized that any performer or instructor must be highly intelligent in almost all of these areas to be successful in Drum Corps. Its cool to find an activity that covers almost all of the intelligences. So which one is the MOST important. I do realize that there are new ones added to the list (naturalistic, spirituality, existentialist) but I am going to stick with the original 7.
  20. I would definately say Madison 00, 01, 02. Madison 2000 is one of the hardest horn books DCI has ever seen, does it sound amazing on the CD? no... but look what they are trying to achieve!
