Jesus Christ dude now you're just arguing semantics and small details. If people give reasons why they think the show wouldn't work, a logical person would deduce that those are the things that they have issues with retreats, and as a result those are the reasons why they say no.

The question was whether one would travel to see this style of show once a year. My answer is No. What's the issue with saying no if you're asking a question?

First I want to thank perc2100 for being the voice of reason in this thread. 2nd, the issue really was overblown. Poor Beth ended up being mentioned in numerous topics and she was ridiculed and bullied on here. I watched the show on fan network and did not notice a thing until I looked for her. She may have been a one week wonder, but the viciousness with which people talked about her on here leads me to believe it was a pretty overblown issue.

These guys are jumping atleast 3 spots this year. I'm calling it.

That's really great to hear! Last year was by far my favorite show by them and probably my 2nd favorite of 2014.

2007 had probably one of my favorite openers minus the narration. Opening hit was insane. I can't wait to see that again on the field.

I wouldn't mind seeing that show drum corps-ified. There's some really beautiful music in there.

From the opener of BD 2010? I love that chord progression. Has such an amazing balance and sound to it. I'll check the video out when I get on a computer

I guess that's a cynical way to look at this topic but what do you expect...? Obviously if someone doesn't like a certain style and a corps bases their identity on this style, people will end up not liking most if not all of this corps' shows. I doubt it's anything personal that people have against the corps being listed here.

You realize these are shows right? Like performances? With themes? No corps does a theme as well and as thoroughly as BD.

True. I guess I'll explain some of my choices then. All Cavies Championships: Cavies are all flashy drill mixed with weirdly arranged brass (they seem to emphasize textures rather than power which, in my opinion, is a bad way to approach outdoor marching music). Considering I don't pay much attention to the visual aspects of a show after the summer is over, Cavies will be hard pressed to create a show that I enjoy listening to (2006, 2008 and 2014 are the big exceptions). BD 09: Just not as standout good as the other BD shows after 07. Visual wasn't that inspiring, though when is a BD show ever that interesting visually... And the music was average. Not a show I hate but not a show I particularly like either. I forgot this is only championship shows so I guess I can only list 05 from the Cadets as a show I didn't like. That drum break with the guy attempting to -- I don't even know what he was doing -- sing? Or whatever it was just annoyed the heck out of me. That part of the show to me was the equivalent of the little boy marching around in Cadets 2010. PR 1993 - Didn't like the opener or closer, liked the ballad (though I wish it was longer). Crown 09 - God. THOSE UNIFORMS. Worst uniforms ever. I felt that the music was uninspired/bland and I didn't like how the phrase from Somewhere was just cut abruptly to launch into Somewhere over the Rainbow. Really wish they just continued on with it a little more so that it didn't feel incomplete. And I think the closer was done a little better in 2010 than 2009, despite Crown placing much lower in brass in 2010.

Any Cavies championship show. Cadets 05, 06, 08, 10, 14 (even years aren't very good for the Cadets, are they?) BD 09 (only BD show after 07 that I don't love). PR 1993 - great ballad, meh everything else. Crown 09 (absolutely hate this show, can't stand it)
