  1. only according to MotoSurfBrass who is far from official. Big news was DCI not doing Alamodome this summer, and that's official from DCI.
  2. DCP doesn't have enough "burnings at the stake" already? Cue Boston, "Wicked." (racks mean something other in DCI-lingo.)
  3. I've heard "some" corps even have placement bonuses written into the contracts. Other presume good placement will earn their faculty endorsement options. BITD, we didn't even get toll money for the transportation from one side of the Hudson to the other.
  4. and remember last week, some announcements turned out not to be exact or true. https://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/index.php?/topic/172186-cadetsencorps/
  5. What a photo of you know who. I'm sure he'll get a few tour laughs and ribbings when pholks imitate that, ha, ha.
  6. so you read the Reddit thread about the corps from South Brunswick? Probably better answers found if posted on the Open Class forum as it effects those corps more or less.
  7. In further percussion "news" https://www.courant.com/ctnow/arts-theater/hc-ctnow-preview-hartford-symphony-drum-circles-20191107-kvmwv6mh6jctzf4riff6b7leim-story.html
  8. I think they and Newsday used the same program consultant who gave each the same rules. Dr. Baggs and Aram Kazaian were class all the way.
  9. Bring back Drums Across the Arctic! (safety concerns are minimal here.)
  10. Coming next to DCI, WGI, BOA or circuit show near you??? https://www.wfmz.com/news/area/lehighvalley/emmaus-high-school-drumline-reinstated-after-baby-powder-incident/article_29dd330e-04ef-11ea-a42a-035c582c0f4f.html https://www.mcall.com/opinion/mc-opi-east-penn-drumline-baby-powder-muschick-20191112-q4hmnzuayna5ncasavvimmlbpy-story.html https://www.mcall.com/news/local/east-penn/mc-nws-emmaus-high-school-drumline-ban-20191111-mndr4nkzbfa75kh5vbj3s5dgkq-story.html
  11. For whom did you arrange the mortgage, ha, ha? Tons of Bucks?
  12. Your chaplains need K9 handlers? Never will understand our neighbors in Trudeauland. Go Islanders! Dump Taveres.
  13. I and my eight siblings all worked part time and also earned scholarships for college. Only one went to a State school and that was across the nation. it can be done.
  14. Newsday Band Festival on L.I. annually draws over 60 local bands (only a number who usually compete) and is held each year on a Tuesday-Weds-Thurs. night set up. It mimics BOA only in the energy shown and each band has to sit out a year every so often to allow the chance for other schools to participate. Almost never any drum corps recruiting however.
  15. Yes. 2019 La Kermesse parade was June 21st. 2020 parade is in the works. Festivalsnet often has the info in advance. Portland in Maine PressHerald today had a follow-up photo and video of the revived Biddeford marching band in yesterday's Portland in Maine parade.
  16. You forgot the word "rich" as in "rich college-student activity" with drum corps tuitions at the $5K mark annually and non-State school tuitions above $50K annually before room and board.
  17. Outside NY-NJ area there are a number. Try some of the parade sites. NYC parade was the 100th anniversary edition of that one and had 2 dozen bands plus. Because New England and metro NY-NJ does things one way, doesn't mean the rest of the nation is as sour or aloof. Quite a few towns on L.I., R.I, and CT had parades on the weekend days not just Monday. Several bands in my area did whirlwind of both local parades and "championships" for those marching band circuits. Enjoy this. https://hoiabc.com/news/bloomington-normal-news/2019/11/11/bloomington-high-school-marching-band-marches-in-nyc-veterans-day-parade/
  18. Reaction of the heavens after DCI announces return of DCI Midwest to St. Louis Dome: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/northern-taurids-meteor-shower-meteor-lights-up-sky-of-st-louis-missouri-metro-area-2019-11-11/
  19. D. C. = Don Cherry? (I hear his new job has already been signed-on as a consultant with a well known uniform/costume mfg. for the marching arts.)
  20. This is beginning to mirror the discussion on that other thread analyzing whether DCA will last another 5 years. Or as another site put it: Will DCA last another 5 years if not discussed on DCP by Pennsylvanians?
