  1. Every Bluecoats show since Tilt (although Down Side Up won, obviously).
  2. I was there at finals and at semi finals and at prelims and several shows beforehand and even at rehearsals in Dayton days before finals week. Crown had a bad run at finals. Sorry ... it wasn't nearly as good as semis or prelims. I wanted Crown to win but when they were done on Saturday night, I knew they were done. They weren't hosed by the judges. They hosed themselves.
  3. I hear what you are saying but I would rather be the fan favorite than an medalist any day. And medalist is not out of the question. Six words.
  4. I look at it this way. Does it really matter? This is the most entertaining show of the year for me. They are a crowd favorite if not THE crowd favorite. That is what matters to me. I honestly don't care about the numbers. This is the show I will watch over and over years to come. If they medal, great. If they don't ... I won't give a rip.
  5. Hey ... they went up .575 in one day ... that looks pretty positive to me.
  6. No those are great seats! Mrs. Lancer and I sat in 141 row 16 for a couple of years.
  7. I couldn't pack them all ... I have to wear one Monday at Massillon!
  8. We sit in section 141 top row. I think it is the best of both worlds. Sit in the blast zone but still a decent visual read.
  9. I have seen him play his solo literally dozens of times. He is fine live . No, he is excellent live!
  10. Great satire! I read the first few paragraphs, rolled my eyes a bit, then zoomed down to the hidden content. You gave me a pretty good laugh! As you pointed out, thus isn't a deep show and for that I am greatful.
  11. I have never, ever said Bluecoats are getting screwed. I never said they are transcendant. I never said if you don't agree with me then you don't recognize the greatness that is Coats. Finally I have never, ever bashed BD. Never said anything approaching that they stunk. Never said they never march. And I seldom use absolutes. Perhaps when you paint Bluecoats' fans you might want to consider using a less broad brush.
  12. Perhaps Crown will discover a sleeping giant or perhaps Crown and Bluecoats will discover another by the name Cavaliers. But I am not in a tizzy. Before the first show of the season I said I didn't care if the show finished first or fifth ... I simply love the show for what it is. That is as true today as it was then. I refused to join in the judge bashing on the Is Bluecoats Getting the Shaft thread or whatever it is called, and if four (or five!) corps finish ahead of Bluecoats I will wish them all hearty congratulations.
  13. I can raise my hand for all of the shows you can. I am not going to say Kinetic Noise is the best ever for me (I would say Star 91 and I am in a hurry so can't give 10 reasons but I will quickly note that their mellophone line trumps 84 Cadets in my opinion and the drill was George Zingalli's magnum opis) but ... Kinetic Noiise was pretty cool for all the reasons @DrumManTx noted. Oh, and you beat me by two years, '74 for me.
  14. It was just not promoted. The usual Spring Training die hards were there.
  15. OK, I only read the first several posts so if I am jumping in this discussion not totally informed about what has already been discussed, forgive me. As most of you know, I am a Bluecoats homer but I refuse to get sucked into any discussion about how the judging community is screwing anybody ... even my beloved Bluecoats. The judges may not be perfect but I believe they have the best interests of the MMs at heart. I may not agree with them but I don't think they are out to screw anyone. Things may turn around a bit for Bluecoats. I was very impressed with the work they did tonight. And if they move-up it will be because they put in the work in an intelligent way. And if they don't move-up it will be because other corps were better. At least that's the way I see it.
  16. I was at Bloo's ensemble rehearsal tonight in Newark, OH. The staff made some subtle changes to the ballad and the magic I experienced in Spring Training is back! I am cautiously optimistic when I say I think it is fixed!
  17. And don't forget Alexandra, Ky is just a short drive from Cincinnati.
