  1. The body movement at the end of The Trio when they away back and forth just does somethin for me. I love it.
  2. It's shown in this perc only full show. Very high quality vid I might add. https://youtu.be/irNTwpELg3E She also says the "it's going to happen very soon" and when I first heard it, it kinda tripped me out because I thought I remembered hearing her say "but you will very soon" in 2014 when she was talking about how "you have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure" but turns out, she says "but you will someday" in 2014. Would've been awesome if they brought it even more full circle that way.
  3. I know most everyone on here expects a group to be able to run fast and play fast and loud for half the show which is fine and dandy but it doesn't seem right to tear down the groups who don't. BK in particular, I've seen get hate for this. I don't see why, as drum corps spectators, we can't just enjoy seeing a corps do what they're good at. Blue Knights don't run, and they don't play fast a lot, but in my eyes that's fine. They do what they do best and they do it really well. It seems like a lot of people hold playing and moving fast all the time as a prerequisite for a good corps, which isn't right in my eyes. Thoughts?
  4. I think BD members have an advantage with Inside BD360 and how much that features the members. But yes, a star would be defined as well known.
  5. Anyone who will be at the show that wants to periscope it?
  6. On your comparison of them with Crown, it's not only the Klesch connection, but they rehearse very similarly and warm up for shows very similarly. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that there are design people other than Klesch who work with both corps.
  7. My (short) list off top Current: Javier from BD Brandon from BD Ben Gunnarson from Bloo Past: Sally Ware from Crown Daniel Reeves from BD Felix Cruz from BD
  8. In my opinion, this is the first year that the brass has a finalist-caliber power in their sound. Also, their design has just recently picked up in a major way in the last few years, and they haven't had that "sparkly clean" show yet. This could definitely become one.
  9. When I say "history shows", in this context I mean recent history as in the last two years when my opinion actually legitimately applies.
  10. I could very well be wrong, but history says that Cadets staff asks too much of the members and peak too early (see 2014 when they choked at finals and 2015 when they couldn't close any gap between the corps who were barely ahead of them point wise [granted all of those shows that beat them are amazing]) and that BK's closers are life changing to those who perform, spectate, and even judge them so ya never know what could happen.
  11. 1. Bluecoats 2. Blue Devils (less than .3 away from first) 3. Carolina Crown 4. Santa Clara Vanguard 5. Blue Knights 6. Cadets 7. Cavaliers 8. Madison Scouts 9. Blue Stars 10. Phantom Regiment 11. Academy 12. Crossmen
  12. Just got word from one of the members that Academy made some drastic changes to their closer. Maybe that pushes them up a bit.
  13. Academy back .3 in vis and music tonight and .6 back in GE
  14. It should be noted however, that all of Academy's electronics (aside from pit and soloist mics) were out last night and they still were only 1.3 back. Also, other than the Scouts' company front, I think Academy had more power too.
  15. So did we ever find the French horn during the Hallelujah duet?
  16. Ah thank you. I'll have my eyes on that tonight.
  17. I dont know if this is something they can fix at this point, but I hate the transition from that awesome company front hit to the rest of the closer. Granted I've never seen the musical and how this plays out in that and if they're interpreting that, it just feels like it's taking a dark, slower, powerful impact, then going back to that light, quick signature Madison style. It just feels like it's lacking a solid transition. On that note, I'm hype to see the show live for the first time tonight. I'm looking forward to them rocking it.
  18. We're forgetting that this is what Cavaliers want from the viewers. They want to be politically (no pun intended) incorrect. This is what they do. I mean, their show is called Propaganda, did you expect it to be all innocent or did you think it would make people go "they can't do/say that? Can they??" Yet again the Cavaliers succeed at their receptive goals and they happen to be pretty dang good this year too.
  19. Next Tuesday I'm very excited to go see a lineup of Pacific Crest, Madison Scouts, and Academy. I'm sure there are plenty of these shows.
  20. Maybe to commemorate the hair band era that Pink Floyd took place in?
  21. I don't know if this has been brought up already in this thread about what "drum and bugle corps" has turned into, and about what the "marching arts" have become, and I think Scott Chandler put it best. He said something to the extent of "100 yards of theater" and I think that really applies to what Bluecoats and Blue Devils have been putting on the field the past 3+ years and even what Cadets have done with this show and to a certain extent what Crown is doing since 2013. I do think most corps will follow suit and we're seeing it happen even this year with Cavaliers and Blue Stars and others who are bidding the "traditional drum and bugle corps" farewell. In my opinion, this direction of "100 yards of theater" is much more entertaining.
  22. Quick favor: can someone find me the picture of when the brass threw their instruments up into the air several years back?
  23. So Bluecoats won with 69.somethin on Thursday and on Friday Blue Devils won with a 68.somethin. I know judging is different at different venues, but it would make sense that the harsher judges would be at the bigger event (in this case Thursday). So is it fair to say Bluecoats are definitively on top right now? (Love their show by the way)
