24.950 (last night) is better than 19.45 (Detroit). Yes they are getting better in visual. Just not as fast as the others are getting better. Look to their success and progress over the season. To get better faster, takes talent (MM), Design, and Instruction. I'm guessing the talent is there. Look to the other two.

Yep, beating SCV in percussion is a challenge, to say the least. Maybe someone else should hire Paul.

I'm still confident that PR will make finals (with the caveat that we don't continue to have the strangeness from the judges we had last night). Maybe that is not enough for you. But realize that there are 10 other corps who will not make finals. And they have most likely paid large sums of money (each) to be successful ... to win or get as close to winning as expected. But with 22 corps, only 12 will make finals and only 1 will win. PR has a good show. I don't think it communicates what was promised in the announcement (just watched it again). But that is not what they are being judged on (I don't think). The MMs are doing a great job, and maybe this year was a "miss". PR will evaluate, modify, plan and look forward to a better 2020. As will my hometown team, the Academy. They have MMs who are doing a great job, having fun and will not even make the top 12, (although I still have hope for them). They will also evaluate, modify, plan and look forward to a better 2020, while celebrating a great season of competition, friendship, musicianship and fun. I think that is the attitude PR should take away from this season. Look Forward.

Yes, Bloo percussion going from 3rd to 6th to 2nd against virtually the same competition class in 3 shows, shows something. I just don't know what.

Yes, the scores from San Antonio. (And Katy, And Denton, and Broken Arrow.) These scores are the only objective measure we have. I do not know what you mean "a more constructive viewpoint". Looking into the designers "heart"? Or, just saying something nice so no one's feelings get hurt?

this is curious. Some of us have the problem and some don't. Do you switch back and forth? Or, like me, always leave it on Multi?

I didn't have this problem. I was watching on ROKU on large screen TV. But I can't figure out why it would happen. I always watch Multi. I would find it disconcerting if it did happen.

Crown has a great show. But I see no evidence that they will improve their position. They will improve. And I will like their show even better. If I have missed the evidence that they are improving relative to BC BD or SCV, let me know. I only point this out because MMNJ keeps saying that they are getting better or getting competitively better, but offers only HOPE. Which is good. My (personal) HOPE is that Academy will make finals. I, too, support my hometown corps. But I have little evidence that my HOPE will be realized.

I agree about this recap. Was hoping for the judges in GE1 GE2 and MA to be a bit closer to each other. This is a mess.

On 7-16 you said: "Tonight is the night where we begin to see where everyone stands head to head. I am expecting a great run... the rest will take care of itself!" On 7-18 you said: We have three shows in a row to see how things stack up; and Let’s see where we are on Sat night. On 7-19 you said: Thinking Crown and SCV will be battling for third. On 7-16 Crown was 0.4 further back than on the previous meeting with SCV at Memphis. On 7/18 Crown was 0.25 further back than on the previous meeting with SVC at Broken Arrow. On 7/19 Crown was 0.05 further back than on the previous meeting with SVC at Denton. On 7/20 Crown was 0.123 further back than on the previous meeting with SVC at Katy. Always have hope, but Crown needs more than hope. They need to improve relative to BC BD and/or SCV. Maybe even pass one. The objective data (which, of course, reflects subjective impressions of each of 7-12 judges) suggests that Crown is getting better SLOWER than SVC is getting better.

Recaps are all over the map. Very difficult to get judges judging the SAME thing to agree on anything.

Would it be easier to understand if they made "XX" and "XY"? That's what they really "mean". Women and Men. Of course, they many mean "XY'. MEN. (but i doubt it). Great Review. Thank you for your effort and knowledge.

Maybe, but I didn't experience them. Yeah, there were a lot of cars, but it was fairly easy to get in, get parked and get to the gate.
