  1. FLO sucks!!!....Re-plays are a joke..For the money I'm paying I should at least expect a flawless production..And as someone stated earlier, the re-play should NOT be worse than the original broadcast..peace
  2. Only down 3 tenths to Boston in Brass...Very interesting...Get clean ASAP and maybe 6th come finals?...wishful thinking?..maybe
  3. Parity in Drum Corps?..Never has been, never will IMO...Even BITD the Corps with money hired the best instruction. Even in a city like New York, where at one time there were dozens of corps, you had to pay for quality instruction..Those who did won championships and those who didn't became parade corps..peace
  4. This may sound scandalous, but I find the YOUTUBE, next day downloads superior to the inconsistency of the FLO rebroadcasts..At the very least, I see and hear the WHOLE show and in many cases, the sound is better..Kudos to those brave law breakers who give us alternative media...peace
  5. This show is growing on me like Chia Pet...slowly but surely...Musically it's in my top three and I see where improvement is inevitable...They may not challenge the DC royalty yet but the show makes me feel so good.. and I've missed that in drum corps for some time...peace
  6. I think it's called Good bad Memory....Healthy in that our brains won't allow us to KEEP the bad things at the forefront of our conscious...helps us to move on..be productive..peace
  7. After listening for the third time I realized that the voice over annoyed me more each time...Its the frequency!... intrusive on the music..imo..peace
  8. After 2 years of force majeure (pandemic), I welcome back the Cadets...Your first show was well worth waiting for..As your show matures, I'm sure you'll be rewarded for your efforts...ST. Louis Woman was true to Herbie's arrangement and my favorite moment...Keep cleaning and you'll be fine for finals..good luck!!
  9. Thank you guys for giving us a show with unapologetic BALLS. Your show kept me engaged from the first utterance til the last chord.Right here, Right now, is going to be memorable in drum corps lore, IMHO...Good luck for the rest of the season...peace
  10. Crown's soloists are fantastic..The tone quality and execution are first class..god's hornline for sure(I use the small g to avoid any religious issues)...Hope their show design is equal to their musical choices...because if it is, they should medal. peace
  11. I just saw a performance by Crown ..couldn't see the design from the angle of the video but the music book ...is FIRE!!!!! They've become my favorite total show so far musically...Hope their show design brings success..peace
  12. Outside of MOON RIVER and WONDERFUL WORLD and perhaps a couple other tunes from the top corps(so far), I find myself wanting more melodically..I know that writing for the sheets has compromised the way arrangers do what they do in today's D.C.I., but melody is still what I like to hear in a drum corps performance...The talent levels are stellar and that's why I lament the death of the tune I can hum on the way home after a great show...My musical palette is wide enough to accept most music genre, so with corps parking and barking more, I look forward to hearing melodies for more than 30 to 45 seconds..Don't get me wrong, I enjoy what I'm seeing and hearing: But when Cowboy Bebop is more recognizable to me than another corps whole show, I rest my case..BTW I have only seen the FLO shows, so I can't comment on the other corps...Peace
  13. Bluecoats give us Gestalt drum corps...can Jung be far behind..? beautiful visuals and guard work..All in all, a great beginning
  14. Just when I thought FLO had gotten their act together. they give me frozen Cavies and frozen Bluecoats...up until then they were doing okay..I hope replay is clean..peace
  15. Congrats on a entertaining show..looking forward to it growing throughout the season...peace
  16. Regarding last night in Pasadena: Moon River never sounded so good..thank you Devils
  17. Just finished watching the rebroadcast from yesterday...much better product than the live version..my screen didn't freeze this time
  18. I agree that there are shows where the quiet to big hit works amazingly..It seems to me that in those shows it all makes sense holistically...but I concede the 80's and 90's had some great quiet to hit material..peace
  19. I'm getting a bit tired of the BOA style openings in drum corps ( no disrespect to BOA)..You know, the quiet, coming to life or coming out of darkness into light stuff before the big hit..The ballet like dancing by #### near everyone and the requisite lifting of a guard member to the sky..lol...I still love drum corps but these openings are becoming too predictable IMO ..Hope to hear some ######, high pace openings just to break the monotony..that's all..peace.
  20. I may be wrong but the mm's seemed alot younger ..Have the Big 6 exhausted the talent pool or are we seeing the result of expanding to 165 post pandemic.?
  21. When it comes to FLO's promises and their subsequent delivery: First test gets a C+..commercials still too goddamned loud and corps sound inconsistent..One corps show( I forget which) was interrupted so often( frozen screen) that I gave up trying to connect.....I accept the fact that this is the first broadcast..Hopefully these gremlins will be figured out by next show..Credit to the visual quality when it was working PROPERLY...peace
  22. Radiosteele: What about the Cadets?...or did I miss something?
  23. After all the opinions so far, I see how near impossible it is to reach a consensus on who is best, BUT the two guys who made me appreciate the possibilities and complexities of this discipline are Zingali and Gaines...Mainly because I would have probably broken my ### trying to march in one of their shows....But seriously , they made me care about show design..And as DINO horn guy , that wasn't always a given..lol
