  1. I find it amazing that you can't find the CAP LOCK key on your keyboard. The fact that you don't see a problem with marching overage members is absolutley, are ya ready? PATHETIC. Go crawl back into your hole.
  2. Actually is was PA (Percussion Analysis). I DEFINITELY have to disagree with you here. There is no way that anyones line played more musical that SCV..... SCV always had a musical ambience to their lines, so the jump from execution and difficulty in previous years to execution and musicality was not that difficult for them. However, most lines, including my Dev's had a very tough time with the transition.
  3. see if you think so also.............. from BD's website: Chase the Clouds Away
  4. sorry, I have been a bit busy with my own site lately, anyone can start the chat, at least we know who is interested now.
  5. ok......are weekend evenings beter than weeknights?
  6. sadly, I don't remember anything but a 3 day camp yearly. w/Stp: :points to self:
  7. thx for the recognition Troop, that column was actually derived from a thread I did here about a year ago. The link to that column is: http://www.dci.org/news/news.cfm?news_id=f...b7-e6ecbdbaae40
  8. ok.....we should start throwing out some times during the week that would best suit everyone.
  9. heh....yea '78 was a weird year. The next week went like this: July 8 Allentown, PA DCI East Prelims 1. Scouts- 83.70 2. Regiment- 82.40 3. Bridgemen 81.70 4. Devils 81.50 5. Vanguard 79.80 July 8 Allentown, PA DCI East Finals 1. Devils 83.30 2. Regiment 82.80 3. Scouts 82.60 4. Vanguard 81.95 5. Bridgemen 81.55 July 13 Toronto, Ontario 1. Devils 86.05 2. Scouts 85.10 3. Regiment 84.60 4. Vanguard 83.85 July 15 Whitewater, WI DCI Midwest Prelims 1. Devils 84.00 2. Regiment 83.10 3. Vanguard 83.05 4. Scouts 82.30 July 15 Whitewater, WI DCI Midwest Finals 1. Regiment 86.85 2. Devils 86.30 3. Scouts 85.75 4. Vanguard 85.25 Ya think they were trying to confuse the DC world? This type of fluctuation is kinda hard to figure, ESPECIALLY with the tick system. The next time the big 5 faced each other was at DCI.
  10. looks like a nice turnout so far, I would suggest that everyone create a AIM name that matches their forum name here, that alone eliminates 1000 "forum name please" requests that clog up the chatroom. For instance, I created "xBDLegendx" for these chats.
  11. lookin good so far.....let's give it a few more days to see how many more are interested, and then maybe we can setup a weekly chat at a time that is convenient for everyone.
  12. I tried a couple of different chats from the Div 1 forums, but NO ONE discusses anything "old school". I would be up to chatting with some old schoolers, post if you have any interest. :)
  13. Franklin Field - Philadelphia - 1975 It was awe-inspiring, the crowd was the largest I had ever seen at a Drum Corps show, we had performed in Prelims during the hot, muggy day(the norm for Prelims back in the day), so this site was amazing, the night was just right, the lights from stadium seemed like heaven, the electricity was unbelievable, I took all this in COMPLETELY as we entered the stadium, I had butterflies caused by just being a part of Finals. When the crowd started to stir as we lined up on the field, the butterflies were unreal, not from being nervous, but from the pure adrenaline flow, the moment. When the announcer belted "on the starting line.........from Concord,CA........the BLUE DEVILS!", I could feel the euphoria about to explode out of my body, but then, I morphed into "lockdown-focus mode", and our performance that night is a blank, I remember NOTHING.
  14. Believe it or not, just had one last night. It's quite the ride, you feel so good when your having it, and then so sad when you wakeup to reality.
  15. I hear ya Paul, let's face it, if you didn't "hear" about someone being overaged, can you physically tell the difference between a 21 year old and a 25 year old? :o
  16. First and foremost, I am not trying to belittle you, or the memory of that emotional night on July 19th, 1980 at our home show Precision West, but PLEASE can we get the facts right? This is the 2nd time I have seen you reference to this, and you have two different scenarios within 45 min of one another, here are excerpt from these posts: --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Are there two different people posting under this name? Maybe you can enlighten me how you could changes the facts within 45 min of each post. Being that I was there that night, and also having the video that BD sold "Blue Devils 1974-1980" which in fact recorded the ENTIRE tribute from beginning to end, I don't recall any mention of any members from Spirit being there. More clarification from the Spirit website (http://www.spiritdrumcorps.org/1980/) If I am out of line here, then I apologize, but I find it hard to believe that your memory could change in 45 min, maybe just enough to gain some personal notoriety?
  17. thanks Nancy. :D BD was on a mission in '80. You guys were absolutely flawless that year. Finals must've been unnerving for you though. It was SO close.... B) I must admit. I secretly wanted to march in BD! lol....well I secretly ALWAYS wanted to belong to a SCV tenor line, some of the sweetest books I have ever heard. ^OO^
  18. "Regrets, I Have a Few ..., But Then Too Few to Mention"................... "But I did it Myyyyyyyyyyyy Wayyyyyyyyyyyy."
  19. That dude moved to the Tenor Line in '77. He had double-jointed wrists, and played those "rolls" single-stroked.........use to blow me away with the "effortless" speed he had.
