  1. I would hope one of those 30 people would ask stadium personnel to talk to the one person
  2. Maybe they'll start evolving and trying out different material other than feathers. Leopard skin anyone?
  3. Ok, I guess I'll just sit here and accept it?
  4. I'm pretty sure Sinatra was singing about something other than marching musical activities. I just think people should be more considerate to the hard work all the kids do. I thought drum corps fans were better than that.
  5. Because I'M PO'd at the fans. I'm well aware that the Blue Devils are not PO'd at the fans, except when they're degraded and mocked while waiting at the airport to go home after finals (which happened to one of my friends) But like I said, NO corps should be booed. I didn't like when Cadets got booed in 2007. I wasn't talking specifically about the Blue Devils. Just because I'm a Blue Devils fan doesn't mean I don't think about other corps
  6. You can boo all you want, I WILL CHEER LOUDER. No corps deserves to get booed. So what if you paid money to see them? They paid more with their sweat, blood, tears, broken bones, muscle pulls, and future skin cancer. What did you do? ##### and moan on DCP? You're pathetic.
  7. I'd say it was a "more intimate" setting
  8. Then I guess the Blue Devils are a statistical anomaly That oldest corps age stat is very interesting tho. Young bloods need to step it up! (or kill their drum major )
  9. Since they won their first title in 1976, here are their "droughts": 1978 = 1 year 1981 = 1 year 1983-1985 = 3 years 1987-1993 = 7 years 1995 = 1 year 1998 = 1 year 2000-2002 = 3 years 2004-2006 = 3 years 2008 = 1 year Mathematically, BD wins on average every 2.5 years since 1976. Their longest "drought" is 7 years. How many corps can say that? Until a corps comes within 3 total rings of the Blue Devils, they should always be the favorites to win
  10. The design can never be more important than the members. Without the members, you would just have ink on paper. The Blue Devils this year had some of the best staged, designed and challenging ink on paper. They then added some of the best members who could perform the ink on paper. Every part of the corps (members, show, staff) is important. This was probably one of the greatest performing group of Blue Devils in history (which is saying A LOT). Guess who taught them? The staff. That staff has not made any major changes in at least 20 years. And people wonder why they're always at the top... Consistency and execution (and in the Blue Devils' case, being SUPERHUMAN marchers and performers) is the name of The Game.
  11. Definitely smaller. I'm sure all encores have smaller crowds because parents want to get to their kid, which has a 91% chance of NOT being in the encore. Anyways, I stayed for the encore. Tons of BD alum and BDB kids there. Lots of shout outs and cheering. I love how the Blue Devils do encores without shakos. It's a really special opportunity for the fans to see the performers' faces during the show and a time for the members to fully see all the people staying in appreciation. Oh yea, and they play BALLS LOUD
  12. Yet another reason to be jealous of the Blue Devils
  13. Yes! LOVE the drum solo in the middle of the show when the percussion is right up front doing cool body movement and drill with the hornline blowing off faces to a dramatic conclusion and then finishing off the piece with some fast and furious drum corps. Definitely one of my favorite moments in the show, probably in most of the shows out there.
  14. Does anyone know what the largest spread from 1st to 2nd was on finals night?
  15. And to people asking about the ending, yes, you will know where to look. ......or will you.....
  16. From the Blue Stars forum: Laurel Highlands High School 300 Bailey Avenue Uniontown,PA 15401
  17. So.....does Blue Devils B even need to show up to finals? They should see how many penalties they can get while still winning...
  18. Watched them practice the two days after Allentown. This corps is awesome. I'll just say they still have some stuff up their sleeve that they weren't able to put in for Clifton. So they had "half" a new ending. I won't say anything but the new ending = more brass playing = one more great mellophone moment plus some other stuff...
  19. I'm more amused at the Blue Devils consistency at being the best in the activity. Incredible.
  20. The problem is that drum corps is an art that is judged. Therefore we need things to base a score off of, at least something more "tangible" than raw emotion and the "visceral connection". Bringing out a cheer-O-meter is not an acceptable way to score.
  21. I don't think home field advantage would cover the 0.975 spread on finals night
  22. :bump: because of the numerous amounts of similar threads starting to pop up
